It's been almost a year since I've been on here. Our passes expired, life got very busy and I just lost touch. But I have had the Disney itch since the day our passes expired, so we are going to try and get them again December.
So forgive me if I am asking easy or repeated questions.

1. If I go to Disneyland on my birthday, do I get my free ticket at the ticket booth? Also, it is my understanding that I can apply this ticket as my down payment on my AP and then pay the monthly $5 as a southern CA resident. Is this correct?

2. If I want to add parking is it an added $50 that day or do they spread the $50 out with my monthly payments?

3. What are some major things that have changed in the last year? Any threads anyone can direct me to for the new and updated info? Are park strategies basically the same? Arrive early, Peter Pan, fantasy land, fastpasses, etc??

Thanks all and I will be checking in more often. I love the Dis!!

Can't answer most of those questions but parking is $59 to add on. Save your parking ticket and they will deduct that from the amount.

1. Yes, you can get the free ticket at the ticket booths. And yes, you can apply that ticket to the purchase of an AP. The $5 monthly thing depends on which pass you buy, but it sounds like you are interested in the cheapest AP.

3. Sleeping Beauty's Castle Walkthrough opened this past winter. IASW was updated with some new scenes and some Disney characters scattered throughout the attraction. There's also been an all you can eat BBQ place in Frontierland that opened earlier this year.

Over at DCA, Toy Story Midway Mania opened last summer. Mickey has taken over the Sun Wheel with a great new paint job, characters, and spectacular lights at night. The lagoon is currently drained in preparation for World of Color, the new night show coming to DCA in Spring 2010. That should only be drained for another month or so though. They have also started construction for the Little Mermaid dark ride (2011) and Carsland (2012), but those don't involve any closed attractions. Needless to say, there are a lot of construction walls around DCA.
