I've been seeing post about people going to the WWOHP. I was there on Friday and we rode DD which takes you through hogsmeade but there was black walls up everywhere.

I'm confused!

It's not actually open but people are being allowed in to preview the attractions if they are staying onsite. I believe that it's supposed to officially open June 18.

The WWOHP opened Friday, May 28 to package holders and on-site guests who showed up before 8:45 am (which no one bothered to inform us when we checked in). We were staying on-site May 26-29 and added another day after being refused admittance on the 28th because we showed up at 9:00. I'm glad we added the extra day as FJ broke down on the 29th before we got to ride. We finally rode yesterday after waiting in the same spot for 45 minutes and in spite of annoucements 15 minutes before that the ride would probably be closed for the rest of the day. Apparently they are still working out who can ride as they are reports of people who rode one day only to be told the next day that they were too large to ride. I hope Universal gives their TMs some sensitivity training before they tick off too many people. I met the person in line who didn't get to ride and they were average sized, so who knows what their criteria are.

Any word on soft openings for pass holders?
There probably won't be one. I was upset at first but then I decided it's better to let the hotel guests deal with the constant breakdowns and confusion. I'll wait until the kinks are worked out.

Yeah I am starting to think the same thing...I will be back once the weather cools, and the Halloween fun starts, and I will get my fill when the holidays roll around...though I WILL be there on 6/18!

Why does everyone want to be there on 6/18

is there anything special happening besides just a mass amount of people and possible park closure

Halloween in HP land...

If I'm still jobless on 6/18 I will be one of the people in the huge crowd. I don't think I'll ride anything (I'll wait till my husband can go with to ride) but I just want to see it. After a long time of longing for WWOHP at the bridge behind the "world" I just want to see it!

Soft-opened to the public this morning, until around 11:00, although by 10:25 (at the latest) they had stopped letting the general public in. Word is they may continue to do this, depending on how may people they have from the hotels. In other words, don't count on getting in, but if you have nothing else to do, worth a shot.

Did it still only stay open till noonish, and did FJ still close down at 10 a.m. or are they keeping it open longer with the softs?

Land itself only stayed open until 11ish (I left at 10:45, things were already winding down). I confess I didn't check FJ as I left, but I think it was still open as of like 10:30; not 100% on that.

I heard everyone from the movie will be there on the 18th. It will be a mad house . I don't care if all of my favorite characters are going to be there I am not coming until december. I will wait till it slows down, maybe. Can't wait to see everything though.

I think you are very wise to wait.
