So is Spiderman similar to The Simpsons ride?

So last week we went to IoA & US, our 1st time getting on Spiderman and my g/f starts trying to freak me out saying the signs that say " if you have heart problems or are pregnant do not ride " are posted at Spiderman as they are at The Simpsons, well, tbh, the Simpsons ride was pretty intense for me, maybe in my younger years i would have been able to tolerate a ride like that, but not anymore.



So we chickened out and went past the entrance after waiting in que and all the while she was trying to freak me out, and went straight for the exit.

Gah!! Next time i hope to try and ride Spiderman again .

I think if the Simpsons was too intense for you, Spiderman may be as well. It has a very different feel to it, but ultimately I think it's very similar technology. I think the car actually moves more in Spiderman, so you see different real backgrounds, but the characters (Spiderman and villians) are all screen based, and the car goes through similar feelings of rising, dropping, etc.

If you are prone to motion sickness then request to sit in the middle of the middle row. You will feel far less. It's basic physics. My dad couldn't handle the spinning in MIB when he was in the end. He had the idea to try he middle for Spiderman, which he had had trouble with before when sitting on the end, and this time it didn't bother him at all and he had a great time on the ride.

The major difference is that in Simpsons, your vehicle stays in its compartment where in Spiderman, your vehicle travels along a track similar to the dark rides at Disney such as Haunted Mansion. However, your vehicle also has the ability to move up and down and tilt. You are wearing 3D glasses in Spiderman.

I am VERY prone to motion sickness and there are really only two short parts that are questionable for me (I won't spoil the parts). But they are very short and you can always close your eyes...at least that helps with my motion sickness. I had my eyes closed the whole time on the Simpsons because of the motion sickness....so if you did the Simpsons ride as could handle it...you should have no problem with Spiderman.

I think I was the one who may have scared off the OP. Just a side note, my wife doesn't like intense coasters or rides, and she did like Spidey. I'd say give it one try, it won't do any "damage", and worse case you just don't like it and skip it next time!!

I think Simpson's is more intense than Spider Man.I think since you're just experiencing what's on the screen versus the whole room environment in Spider Man it feels more intense.Spider Man is more fun and has other special effects like fire,water and is somewhat intense.Overall spidey feels more realistic but since the scenes are in the rooms the action isn't as fast as the Simpsons in the theme park,thus making a more fun,less intense ride.

Those signs are there to keep the lawyers and insurance agents happy. In reality, out of the millions who have ridden both rides there has probably never been a heart attack or pregnancy complication caused by either ride. If there was it was more coincidence than anything to do with the ride.

Don't let an overcautious lawyer keep you from having a good time. Instead think of the millions who made it safely through and play the odds.

My SIL over reacted on both rides.She siked herself out before even trying them.Dont do the same cause they are both great rides.Intense for some but like the OP stated just close youre eyes!
Like Purseval stated,the warnings are for there protection against lawyers...

Spiderman is my favorite ride out of both parks. I think it's less intense than the Simpsons, which may be why I like it more. It's just such an awesome ride

My wife loves Spiderman but can't do Simpson. The warning are there to cover their rear-ends.
