So is current thought that the 4th fast pass is the last version for FP+?

Or is there some thought that things will change further?

I'm just trying to figure out where things will be for October! :p

thanks!

1. Not the final version. I expect more tweaks, but nothing major.

2. Good luck with that.

I think it is the final version, minus a few smaller tweaks. JMO

ETA Actually, I think they are going to tier MK and AK once 7DMT opens. Then it will be done.

I do not believe that Disney will ever go with the "rolling 3" that has been mentioned.

Whether it's the rolling 3 or not, I think they will do something that doesn't preclude guests who make FPs for nighttime entertainment from getting a 4th FP. That could be the ability to get the 4th FP after a given time or after using just 1 (the rolling 3).

I also think that eventually guests will be able to make their advance FP+ reservations in more than one park..

I will be surprised if they put in tiering at MK because it isn't needed, and I will be even more surprised if they put it in at DAK.

The whole point with the new system is that it can be changed and tweaked. Like MesaBoy, I wouldn't look for anything major before October, but I would expect it to change as needs arise.

How? They might as well get rid of the tiers then.

agree with Arwen....tiers will prevent cross-park booking of initial FP+'s. And tiering is NOT going away.

I also don't think that they will do anything to give entertainment bookings a chance at a 4th FP. FP+'s for entertainment are likely considered "premium" fast-passes since there's a more limited number of them.

All they would have to do is lump all the attractions into one pot. You get one tier 1 and 2 tier 2 OR 3 tier 2. They could throw a couple of attractions from the other parks (the mine train being the obvious one) into tier 1.

Disney has a financial incentive to encourage the sale of hopper tickets, and allowing FP reservations to be made in more than one park would do that.

No one here knows, and if they did know, they're not going to blab it here. Go assuming things will stay the same, but be prepared to just roll with it if things change.

I agree that tiering isn't going away, but you can easily allow reservations in two parks without eliminating it. If you choose a tier 1 at DHS you can't also choose one at Epcot.

I think they will allow the 4th and after fastpass on your phone. I agree that tiering is not likely to go away, the 4 major attractions at Epcot & DHS would be gone too fast.

Okay! I wasn't really expecting an answer from corporate. I just figured everyone had some thoughts on it (and seems to know much more than I do) so I thought I'd ask in case anyone knew what the current rumors may be. :)

I was mostly kidding that I'd be able to figure out today what I would need for October.

Man, tough crowd!

That's true, they could do that. :)

What does AK tiering have to do with MK? Also what does 7DMT have to do with tiering? There is already many "Tier 1" rides at MK so there would be no point.

Dumbo
Peter Pan
Splash
Space
7DMT
BTMR

It would make no sense why 7DMT would be a tipping point....

Throw in the character greetings, parades, Wishes, POC, HM, and JC and there is good number and variety of attractions that appeal to different people. Because it appeals to most everyone and is brand new, the mine train is going to be in high demand whether there is tiering or not.

If they tier MK and AK it will be because they want all of the parks to be consistent, not because there is the same need to do it as there is at Epcot or DHS. If they thought it was necessary at DAK I would think they would have done it by now.

And MK had 7 million more visitors than the next closest park, EPCOT. That averages out to just over 19,000 more people a day. If only half of those people use FP+ then that is close to an extra 10,000 people per day. Tiering makes sense to me.

I think it's obvious that many more people are using FP now than in the past so that only makes it worse for headliners. Personally, I could see MK ending up with two T1 attractions (fireworks and parades included in that), two T2, but have the ability for fireworks and parade people to get an extra "whatever is available" after say 5 pm (but people who didn't chose F or P could get another one earlier).

I heard that FP+ made waits slightly shorter for headliners.

Also, I don't think tiering in MK would work. Too many "tier 1" rides that are primarily for under 10 crowd: pan, dumbo, 7dmt, belle, AE, etc...
Then the other tier 1s for over 10 crowd: the mountains.
Why make a family with two small kids pick between pan, dumbo and belle when they have no real desire to ride Space? Too many tier one rides at MK to bother.

MK may have a lot more visitors, but it also has a lot more attractions and, therefore, a lot more total FP capacity. If they add tiering at MK, it could come along with an increase in the number of advance FPs.
