So is current thought that the 4th fast pass is the last version for FP+?

And MK had 7 million more visitors than the next closest park, EPCOT. That averages out to just over 19,000 more people a day. If only half of those people use FP+ then that is close to an extra 10,000 people per day. Tiering makes sense to me.

I think it's obvious that many more people are using FP now than in the past so that only makes it worse for headliners. Personally, I could see MK ending up with two T1 attractions (fireworks and parades included in that), two T2, but have the ability for fireworks and parade people to get an extra "whatever is available" after say 5 pm (but people who didn't chose F or P could get another one earlier).

Personally I think Wishes/MSEP FP+ should be unlinked like Mickey/Princesses/Dumbo were under the old system. That would solve the what do you do if it's one of your 3 prebooked ones problem.

One interesting note. Look at these two version of a commercial one from January and one from last week.

January Version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvRPUzRGK7s

Current Version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyR3ttuS-EI

The January version specifically mentions test at the end the current one doesn't. So, I will say, we are at least coming close to the end of the "testing" phase. During most of "testing" it was 3 FP+, 1 park, no repeats, tiers. The 4th "rolling" fp+, and park hopping with the rolling FP, could be the first though of several improvement coming down the line now that they are out of "testing".

I have been reading through several threads about FP+ for quite a while now to try to understand the changes and how it will affect my planning for our next trip.
A couple of questions keep popping up for me.
1. Why would I want or need a FP for fireworks or a parade? Would this be for a special viewing area?
2. How far in advance are you allowed to book FP+, and can I split up my family, for example at HS my DH and DD1 could do ToT & myself and DD2 could do Toy Story?
3. Are they guest specific? Myself and DD2 would not ride ToT or RR at DHS, but my dh and other DD would. Could they use our RR choice and their own ToT, for example.
3. I have just begun to read about a 4th FP so I am not sure I understand how that works. But, I do not have a phone capable of connecting to the internet so I will not be able to do any booking of anything from a phone while there. I think I read about kiosks I could use instead, correct?

Thank you so much. I have been reading a lot and I apologize for repeating questions that may have been asked before, but the more I read, the more I started questioning the details.

Look up 4 replies and someone answered you from the first time you posted these question in this thread.

I don't think they will ever allow 4th FP+ from your phone.

They want to predict how many people ill be at each park. If Epcot is a slow day and has less staff...they don't want a thousand people seeing that Soarin' FP's are still available and all head to Epcot.

By allowing people to book over the phone though, the reverse could also happen, EPCOT is having a slow day but has plenty of staff. DHS on the other hand is being slammed. If I can look at my phone and book a Soarin' or TT FP+ I would leave the overcrowded park confident in the fact I'm not hopping from one crowded park to another crowded park. Yes I know having wait times available on the app gives me the same information. If EPCOT has low crowds and low staff, there wouldn't be as many FP's so they just wouldn't show any good FP+'s to phone users, or add in the GPS feature and not show any good FP+'s to APP users not in the park.

I think that if they were going to tier the MK, it would have rolled out with the 7DMT FPs. That would have allowed them to give with one hand while taking away with the other. Now it would only be a takeaway.

I'll be curious to hear about hopping though. I do think that as long as the MK is not tiered, allowing prebooking of FPs across parks would undo what tiering does. Instead of spending one day at Epcot and one day in the MK, people would just spend 2 half days at Epcot and 2 half days in the MK, triggering pre-scheduled FPS for both headliners at Epcot.

I have no idea why my questions posted twice, but I do apologize. I had stepped away from the computer and had to log in again. I suppose I left something up and when I logged back in it re-posted. :confused3

Anyway, my questions had already been answered. Thank you SuperRob. :) I feel much less confused by it now. And great suggestion about "borrowing" the band or card. I should have thought of that, but that's what I have the boards for! That will be a great way to get use of the FP for our DHS day since we do split up on that day for sure. My oldest daughter and I are pretty happy to do easier rides/shows that day, and we can do rope drop for TSMM for all of us! I am beginning to think I might really like this new system for our next trip. We like to use late hours as much as possible to get rides in anyway.

I'm a little lost. Been hanging at the free dining threads too long I think lol! Is there now a option for a 4th FP+ after you use your first 3? Or is this just all speculation like the rest of FP+ chatter??

Yes. Once you use your 3 FP, you can go to a kiosk and book and 4th, then a 5th after that one, etc.

Yes! It rolled out last Monday to all guests. After your first three FP+ selections are used/expired, you can now pick a fourth at an in-park kiosk (at any park, so you can park hop). Once your fourth is used, you can pick a fifth. It basically works just like legacy FastPass at that point.

Oh wow where have I been! Thanks for explaining that SuperRob and Vohdre! :) so after you use your first 3 which have to be in one park you can park hop to another park with anymore you may choose to use after #3? Am I understanding this correct..

I don't think so either. I think that the 4th FP by kiosk-only allows them to say that FPs aren't limited in number anymore (which is good). But I don't think they really want everyone partaking in it. On the same note, I don't think we will ever the rolling 3.

You're assuming they are thinking ahead about this! :)

I hope they don't tier MK.

On the other hand, they haven't actually opened the ride yet, so they don't know what the demand is going to be like. Is everyone in the park going to want to ride it every day? How long do they want to let the standby line get?

I really don't think they can know if it needs to be tiered until they see it in action. Same as Epcot and DHS...they opened FP+ there untiered and then when they saw the demand, had to tier.

We shall see!

I wouldn't know how to handle tiering at MK. Ugh and ugh again if that happens. :scared:

I agree that I could see it happening though. The new ride and A&E and something else in the top tier?

You can park hop to another park, walk up to a FP+ Kiosk and book ONE more FP. Once that one is used, you can go back to a Kiosk and book ONE more, etc.

Depending upon time of day, crowd levels, and which park / attraction there may not be Fastpasses available for every ride (or they may be hours away from the arrival time).

I was at MK on thursday and the 4thFP system worked great for us. Booked our advanced ones for the AM, and once they were used we were able to book more and more throughout the day, total of 8 all together. It only really stinks if you want to use a FP for fireworks/parades.
