If you don't want to, just say "no".
DS was 42 weeks 3 days when they forced him out (I was an idiot) and he had signs of prematurity.
Hubby was a 44 week baby. No one forced him out, things were much saner in the OB and midwife world in 1972 than they are now.
In laws had rock solid dates as FIL was on leave from Merchant Marines, and they know to the hour (when the train went by and woke them up) when hubby got his start.
DH and I had rock solids dates as well.
If you don't want the induction, go researching for the actual information on going longer than the bell curve that was NEVER intended by the dude who came up with it to have birth attendants hurry things along.
The original site went away for some reason, but this is an
archive of a site that was called "10 month mamas".
If you don't want it and there's no reason other than your attendants getting antsy, just say "no" and stay strong! Babies are very smart, they know when they are ready. Sure wish someone had reminded me of that while allowing myself to be bullied into stuff by my supposed homebirth midwives.
Good luck!
