And finally got lime green mickey heads! DH thinks I'm nuts. I didn't even realize that I could get them until we got out of the car and I started freaking out, remembering that I could get my hands on these little mickey heads (we were there for water salt stuff). As I childishly grabbed some mickey heads, I looked at DH and said, "Now we can make friends on our trips!" He just laughed at me. Just had to share with people who hopefully understand!

:lmao: We don't have Home Depot here, so when I headed over to the US earlier this year, we went out of our way to go to one so I could stock up! I know exactly where you're coming from!!

I haven't picked mine up yet but I still have like six weeks :) My DH humors me with that kind of stuff :)

My husband also thought I was nuts! As soon as I gotr home I got to work on mine!:lmao:

I sat at our dining room table about a week before our trip, patiently cutting around the LGMMHs with an exacto knife to separate them from the backing... glueing them together... putting on Mickey stickers... threading lanyards with green and clear pony beads... DH stopped by the table and stood watching silently for a while. Then he said very quietly, "It's an illness." :lmao:

Do you guys sell Disney paint in Australia ? I'm just curious ;)

I kinda feel silly for not knowing but can someone explain the lime green Mickey heads?

:rotfl2: It's true!

They are a way for other Disers to recognize you. So if you see someone with a lgmh in the parks, you know they are on these boards too and you can go up and say hi. The "official" ones are actually mickey shaped paint samples from home depot (in the color Alien Green) or you can make your own and print them out on the computer (there have been a few posts with ones you can print but i'm not sure where those posts are now).

Sweet! :thumbsup2 Thats a million for clarifying that. I am definately going to do that.

LOL he is right you know...now Gail, I'm sure I've seen your pictures of your LGMH's but I need more info....what lanyards did you use? I've got a stack of these babies at home waiting to be bedazzled for our Jan. trip. LOL And I had the girls pick out their 3 faves, I'm going to make luggage tags from one color and fun lanyards/necklaces out of the others....stocking stuffers!! lol

I always look for LGMH's, but never see them.....well once or twice but always at a huge distance and I didn't feel like screaming "HEY DISER, OVER HERE!!!!!" LOL :rotfl2:

These seem like really fun crafts -- and a great way to procrastinate other things like laundry and the dishes!

Oh, and I know what you mean. I haven't been since I've known about the mickey heads...and now that I do I'll be looking for them. And you can yell at me, I'll find so much happiness in being hunted down by a fellow DISer!

I looked for LGMMHs our entire trip and never saw one! And I had three hanging off me, 2 on the back of my baggallini, one on the front. Darn.

I had some beading stuff lying around that a crafty friend gave to my kids when she was cleaning out her stuff. There were small keyrings, pony beads, and white silky string or piping kind of stuff. So I just strung a few green and clear pony beads and attached them to the keyring, and hung it off the zipper pull. Nothing major. For my LGMMHs, I glued them together and wrote different things on them-- "DIS boards"-- "Avalon451" "I DIS, do YOU?" I picked up a package of those self-laminating pouches at Staples, the credit-card size. Actually, they didn't stick together that well, one fell apart during the trip, so next time I might actually get them laminated. I stuck Mickey stickers, one or two, on the laminating pouch and then the LGMMH next to it, and covered it and stuck it together. Then I punched a hole through the top and tied it onto the end of my lanyard I'd made.

For those wondering what paint display to look for, it might be obvious when you get there, but just in case you get all crazy and confused when you enter stores bigger than a sports stadium, it's the Disney colors of Behr brand paint. They have some normal paint chips too, but about half of the chip colors are in the form of Mickey heads.

Yeah we do have disney Paint here in australia although i have only just seen it i dont think we have had it for very long though.

Aww thats too bad !! I enjoy those different Mickey colored heads :) You guys will just have to wait until you get here.

Well, when are you going? I've noticed my ticker doesn't exactly say....lol I know I'm more likely to yell out if someone is going the same time I am. LOL We will be there Jan 3-8 but we won't get in until later Saturday. :)
