...so I framed my very first pin set and made my own pinbook! Both were really fun.
The set I framed was the Alison Lefcourt Tinkerbell Portrait Series. I bought a shadowbox frame at a craft store (black), then cut out a piece of foamcore, glued black felt to it, and then stuck the pins in the foam core in a nice line. Then I put the white matting (which came with the frame) around it and shoved the stuff back in that is designed to be filler between the back and the frame (after doing this part, I realized that I probably don't actually need shadowbox frames as long as there is enough space for foamcore and pins between the glass and the back...but would welcome input on this!).
For the pinbook, I found this great 3 inch looseleaf binder at Staples that zips closed all the way around. I bought stiff felt and soft felt, and used the stiff felt for the pins and the soft felt for protecting them. It is a giant book and currently holds 221 of my trader pins which also unfortuantely made me realize that I'm spending too much on pins and that I really have way too many pins that I'm not planning on keeping!
I wish I could take a picture of both but I don't have a digital camera. At least I will be able to show the Connecticut contingent at our next meet!
Hope you guys at the meet are having fun!
