So I spoke to Chris today at the Disney ticket office...

I'm pretty sure you need to show another form of ID to get AP discounts. There was a boy infront of me at one of the merchandise stores who didn't have any form of photo ID (he was like 14!) and they were pretty close to not giving him the discount. But that's so tricky sharing it with their twin. People like that need to wake up and realise how pathetic they are.

Yes, you do need to show ID, however with children that isn't possible. This trip DD will be turning 16, I'm going to have her take her school ID (unless she has her drivers permit by then :scared1: which actually I do want her to have.....) just in case she needs it. I ALWAYS have ID on me, no matter what I'm doing, well OK, if we are out on the boat I don't have my ID..... :)

I guess that firms up my plans. I was debating on adding a 7th day to my family's 6 day passes for the extra $5 each. If I have to pay the full $125 (x4) for a 1 day hopper for my 7th day, I might as well pay the $100 each for the shuttle and pass to Universal Studios. In addition to the $25 savings each, that's about $300 in food/snacks I'll be spending at Universal that day, not Disneyland. :confused3

I don't think I'd "firm up" those plans, as has been mentioned the phone CM's aren't at the park, it's extremely possible you can upgrade once you get there. I would suggest asking at the ticket booths on your first day, then if you can upgrade do it right then, if not then go with plan b and go to Universal. :)

You're supposed to sign them? I've never done that. :confused3

We always sign(ed) our hoppers. That way if they were lost we could have a way to prove they were ours. I also take/took a photo of our hoppers just in case we lost them.

Remember the people answering the phones are very rarely IN THE PARK. You aren't talking to someone in the ticket booth with real life knowledge of these processes. Just someone in a call center.

Hmmm.... I have always had the understanding at DLR (not WDW) that they are indeed in the Park, maybe not right out in front of guests, but in the Park nonetheless. As far as I know, they are trained Disney CMs, not just some random person in an off-site call center.

No, I'm pretty sure they aren't in the park, they may be in Anaheim but not in the parks.

When I called last week to find some info about the 8 day hoppers for Canadians....the CM and the supervisor had never heard of them.Makes me think it's a call center :rolleyes1

Has anyone looked at the price of buying WDW tickets and using them at DL? Unless things have changed, you could use your unused days from WDW tickets at DL. Is it cheaper to do it that way rather than buy an annual pass or a 5 day and 3 day?

On or trip to DL this past January, we attempted to add days to our 6 day park hopper tickets, and were not successful. We asked upon check in when we bought the tickets, we asked again when there was someone else at the desk, we asked at guest services another day, and we asked at the ticket booth. Previously, I had also appealed to our DL based DVC guide as an act of desperation (we were members staying in a Villa for 8 nights).

The CM at the ticket booth initially responded that he could add the days, and then seem surprised he couldn't and spent a lot of time trying to figure it out.

Although I had read on these boards that others had had success previously, it did not work out for us.
