Heya,

Let's see, where to start? I am a wife of going on 8 yrs to a wonderful dear soldier, and mommy to a 6 yr old Princess, a sweet but very shy kitty, rescued from a kill shelter, and a golden retriever pupper. We have recently returned to the USA after being stationed in Germany for 4 years. We are a definate Disney family, one of DH's parents happens to be one of the VPs of Disney! Strangely enough, we have never been to WDW as a family! We went to "the Land" about twice a year before moving to Germany, and I must say that if you get a chance to go to EuroDisney...take it! It's such a unique experience! So, back to "the World." My sweetie has been to all of the older resorts, and all that. I went to the world with my family every fall until 1993, but never stayed in a resort, because my great grandmother lived in the area...who wants to stay in a hotel (even one with a mouse) when you can stay with great grandma, who has orange and grapefruit trees in the backyard?! Anyway...before I go further off topic, our Princess has never been to the world! And I've never stayed in a resort! THE HORROR!!!! :scared1:

So, next month, we are going to the world for the first time as a family! We are staying at the Yacht Club. The inlaws will be there for a few days of our trip (how cool is that?! Free trustworthy babysitters on our vacation!!!).

Anyway, I'd love to hear people's thoughts the Downtown Disney adult scene, since it will be the first time the hubs or I have been there as adults, and we will have a few evenings alone. Just for background, we are in our late late late 20's (well, hubby's in the last few months of his 20's teehee I said that out loud!), and not into "clubbing." Mostly, a nice restaurant, with good wine, shopping, etc.

Hmmm...can't think of anything else to say at the moment.

Nice to meet you all!!! *hugs*

Nice to meet you! I have a 5 year old princess who is getting ready for her 2nd trip to the world in September. I hope you have a great trip. And thank you to you and your husband for his service!

Becky

Welcome!
Thanks to your family, my family feels safe in this country. :grouphug:
My DH and myself don't drink alcohol so I can't give much advice about Downtown nightlife. They have great music playing, sometimes bands, sometimes just the big screen playing videos. They have comedy clubs. It's fun to just walk around there. But like I said, we are not partiers so I don't have any answers about the night life.
We go to the parks without the kids. That's always fun too.
Have fun with whatever you do.

Thanks for all the thanks to my sweetie (I promise to pass them along when he gets home).
We do not drink much, just a glass of wine for special occasions (for example, the last time either of us drank was New Year's Eve). So...I'm not looking for parties, and whatnot. We are kinda fuddy duddy...not into dancing, loud music, comedy clubs....lol

Perhaps we should just stay in the parks and ride the "big kid" rides! :P

Thanks for the info! :)
