AND IT WAS WONDERFUL!!! :cheer2:

I wasn't expecting to love it as I am not a Wizard of Oz fan. My book club picked Wicked as one of our recent books and I could barely get started in it, now I've read as much as I read before and beyond just having an image in my head and the desire to know more of the story. It was funny, as I was sitting next to one of the girls in the club last night during the show and at intermission I just turned to her and said, "So, I guess I should probably read the book now, huh?" She just laughed.

I would strongly recommend it! It is up there with my favorites (Aida, Lion King, Phantom).

Let's hear what others have to say about it! (Feel free to talk about book, musical, or anything else that tickles your fancy!)

we saw it with Idina Menzel. Kristin Chenowith was with the show, too, but her understudy went on that night. it was wonderful!

the book is different, though. a lot of what I really liked abou the show wasn't in the book.

I saw the musical a couple of months ago, and it was amazing! I bought the soundtrack, and I love it. Let's just say that I can longer view The Wizard of Oz in the same way ever again.

I'm halfway through with the book and am not enjoying it at all. I do plan to go in the fall to see the musical.

We saw it yesterday too! We all loved it, and DD, 6yo had a great time. It was a tad long but the music is great and we have been singing all day!

I haven't seen the musical, but I LOVE THE BOOK. It's one of my favorites now.

I just got tickets for Sept 2007! It is going to be a long wait but at least they are great seats!

A friend of mine was at that same show. I am waiting to hear from her how she liked it. She took her 2 DD's and her SIL.

I saw it with my mom and brother last month in NYC. We scored the tickets at the last minute, we had tried for weeks earlier with no success,

It was the highlight of our trip.

I only wish my daughters had been with me, it was a great movie for preteen/teen girls, IMHO.

Good excuse for another trip.

We saw Wicked in Chicago a few weeks ago. It was fantastic! Even my husband, who surprised me with the trip, really liked it! My kids, 9 & 11 loved it as well! We went to the 8 pm show and knowing it was about three hours long, I was afraid they'd be tired or that it wouldn't hold their interest. No problems there! If anyone has a chance to see it, I would! :thumbsup2

I saw it Sunday night in Minneapolis as well. It was great! I have tried to read the book and haven't gotten through it, but the show was fantastic!

HATED the book (which I read before seeing the musical). LOVED the show.

I'm halfway through the book and I love it and would like to see the play.

Going in August when it comes around here. Can't wait I have heard nothing but great things about it!

I saw Wicked in Chicago this past weekend. I am a die-hard Wizard of Oz fan and caught some things that were confusing to me, but I absloutely loved the show. I can't wait to get the soundtrack!
