So I just found out I’m going to Disney and…

I don’t feel excited. Everything feels weird, almost like this trip shouldn’t happen. I usually go to Disney World in July and we book the trip in February. Since Disney has the free admission on your birthday promo this year, my Aunt and Uncle (whom I go with every year) wanted to go in October for their grandson’s birthday. So they went to the travel agent yesterday and booked the trip for us three and their son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. It feels weird because A) I’ve never been to Disney World with anyone else besides my Aunt and Uncle and B) I always go with them to the travel agent to book the trip but I wasn’t home yesterday and couldn’t go. The other big issue is that this school year is my senior year and my parents aren’t too happy about me missing a week of school. I’ll be missing a week of field hockey and a pretty necessary week of college mailing and planning and whatnot; and in our school system if you miss more than five days of health you’ll have to repeat the class in summer school. I haven’t gotten my school schedule yet but seniors typically don’t get health during the time of my trip so that doesn’t bother me too much but it is still something working against this trip. But I really want to go on this trip because obviously it’s Disney World! And I’ve never been with other people so it should be 10 times the fun, we’re going in October so we’ll be at MNSSHP for the first time, the trip is 2 days longer than what we typically go for, and we’re staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and that’ll be our first time at a Deluxe. I feel like the pros seriously out-weight the cons but I still can’t help but feel bad for not getting excited. I’m going for dinner tonight with my Aunt and Uncle so we’ll be planning the ADRs and stuff so hopefully that’ll make me excited. Sorry for basically venting but I figured the people on the Dis would be best at making someone feel good about a Disney trip.

The first time I went to Disney at a different time, it was kinda weird for me too, and I didn't get excited til it was pretty close. It's normal, I think.

But I think the planning will definitely help you get into the Disney mood =)

That sounds really close to our trip last year.
Origionally it was planned for June but my Grandma has broken her foot.
So we delayed it until Sept. but we had to postone it because the hurricanes were really bad.
So when my parents said we are going in November, I told them that maybe we weren't meant to go this year, even though I love it.
They didn't listen and we ended up going and boy am I glad we did.
Everything was perfect as usual, because of course it is Disney World :)

So just rememeber that it is the "Happiest Place on Earth" and that you will have fun no matter what life throws at you while you are there. :)
