So I Got This Email.....

Hey Everyone!

I am sort of new in the College Thread..... I have been lurking for a while but haven't gotten the nerve to say anything yet until I got this email Friday....

I applied to be in the Fall program last year, but was not accepted. I was very surprised by this because they had told me in a previous email and in the phone interview I was a very strong candidate. So Friday I got this email and it says:



Dear Student,

During your recent application for the Disney College Program you were identified as a strong candidate, but were not selected to participated at that time due to availability of positions. We are now pleased to share we have openings within the Disney College Program at the Walt Disney World® Resort beginning in March or April.

Program Dates Available:
March 24 – August 13
April 26 – August 13

If you are interested or have questions please contact us at wdw.college.recruiting@disney.com

Please send us your name, contact information and indicate which month you’re interested in, March or April.

All interested candidates must notify us by Wednesday, February 17, 2010 to be considered.

We look forward to hearing from you!

I am just wondering if anyone else has received that email and what it really means? Do I have to go through the interview process again? If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated!!

Usually that means you were accepted for one of those programs. Those are pretty awesome dates. I would go ahead and call them and if you can go, go!

I haven't gotten that before but I'd say it's definitely a good sign! If you want to do it- I would contact them ASAP. You can ask them about the interviewing stuff then. Good luck!

I got the same e-mail, except mine said it those dates were being offered as part of the summer alumni program, so I applied. It can't hurt to call and check, good luck!

I think it basically means that last time you applied, they had no spots open. Now they DO have spots open and they are offering some to you. Those are the dates you have the option of. If you still want to do it and are available during those times, DO IT!

Sounds to me like they wanted you to participate last time, but just didn't have to room. Now they're offering you this new summer program! I'd take it if you're available!

Thanks SOO Much everyone for your responses!! I have to tell you I am SOO excited!! I did reply to Disney as soon as I got the email on Friday, I was just wondering what it could possibly mean!! If the response from Disney is along the lines of your responses I could be on my way to DISNEY WORLD this April!!!!

Argggggg... that's awesome! I wish that happened to me..... maybe I should have waited, because the same thing happened to me before, but I applied straight off the bat this time, and haven't heard back yet.

Definitely go for it! It sounds like something they're testing out, and if you can do it, by all means, respond! I couldn't because it starts too early for me, so I guess I'm not that bummed by it.

what are you talking about?? you leave your daughter in frozen state of new york to go to disney for the week!! but you cant do the college program so i feel bad for you i guess
