So, I am tired. HOW tired, you ask?

It's the end of the school year. I have just over a month until the posters come down, books get boxed, and the kids fly out the doors. If you think of a battery meter that shows how much "juice" is left, I am just one line under none. Let's just say I am 98.5% burned out and once I reach 100% I'll switch over to lethargic auto-pilot mode.

To sum it up, I'm tired. How tired, you ask? I put the Tivo remote in my purse this morning with my eyeglasses and cell phone. I got to work, opened my purse, and surprise! :rotfl::lmao: BTW, I have no recollection of putting it there whatsoever! :rotfl2:

Addendum: I am also so dang tired that I just spilled half a cup of red tea on myself while grading spelling quizzes.

I thought Teacher Appreciation Week was supposed to be fun? ROFL

I'm right there with you! We have our final concerts coming up in one week as well as our awards banquet in addition to all the standard end of the year activities. Not to mention the kids bouncing off the walls since they apparently *think* they're done...

The other day as my mind was running through my long list of to-do's for the day I tried to open my classroom door with my car remote. Sad, but true. Then I had to go back to my car to get my school keys!

Hang in there!

I am SO with you guys. My KG concert is Tuesday. I have a rehearsal at 8am on Monday. Today I packed up everything I need to take from my school to our sister school where the auditorium is - I took it to the office so I could pull my car around after I loaded up the car riders . . .

So - I get home (a 45 minute commute) and see - um - NO box! :sad2: UGH! I left the thing in the school office (with some of my Teacher Appreciation stuff in it :( ) So now I have to leave at 6am Monday to drive to my school before heading to the other school and set up for the rehearsal.

10 days. . . 10 days . . .10 days. . . I can do this. . . I can do this . . . :scared:

Then it's Disney World 2 weeks after that! WOOT! :cool1:

Wow, we have a lot of music educators here on the boards! Hang in there all!

State testing begins on Monday for my fifth graders next week. It'll last through Friday. The kids are well prepared (I hope lol) and many are actually EXCITED about taking it! A few even told me that they are "psyched" and "pumped" about the test! One asked on Wednesday if I could "just give it now." Hahaha. Gotta love fifth graders, they are always excited about everything and anything!

No, it is more like this....

Your kids will do great!! :cheer2:

My DS11 (today!) just took his tests last week. SO GLAD it is over - but he did well we hope. He also took his AR test over Inkheart and got 95%! woo hoo! Finally- got the last 23 points he needed. I am not a fan of AR.

AR is not something I like either. I really think it is a waste and does not teach children anything about reading comprehension. I just got my license as a reading specialist and AR came up in a few of my grad classes. Not many schools in NJ use it anymore, but some still do.

yes, I think the race for points and the required points thing is ridiculous. My DS reads on a high school level, but loves books like Magic Tree House. Well, those aren't in his ZPD, so he isn't allowed to read them! :guilty:

It makes me so mad because he doesn't enjoy reading like he used to. Now he has to read and get a certain number of points or his actual reading grade in class is lowered. I have a serious problem with that.

Thankfully - we only have one more year of this then he will be in middle school and won't have to worry about it. Maybe it won't ruin him for life on reading.

Regardless - back to the point of this thread- hang in there - only a little bit of school is left. :woohoo:

I can't top that one..... I'm off to the store to get mine. Too bad I can't call you on it once it's in my hot little hands..... Then to the mall across the street to get a skin or cover..... in pink....

:lmao:
