This week I am so hungry. Not bad hungry per say, but I cant seem to eat enough. Per my nutritionist, I am supposed to eat between 1600-1800 calories. The last few days I cant seem to keep in under 2000. It is a little after 9am and I have already had a snack after breakfast. It was just veggies and low fat dip (100 calories), but I JUST ate breakfast not that long ago. I usually get hungry around 10 and have some fruit and cheese or something but never this early. Yesterday it happened as well. I ate celery and PB, still hungry had a nectarine, still hungry had a plum, still hungry had a yogurt, still hungry had a Skinny cow ice cream (70 cal) in pure frustration. All the while I was trying to keep myself busy with chores and whatever else I could think of to distract myself from this hunger! After the ice cream, it went away for a hour or so, but returned. My diet is balanced nutritionally (although heavy on protein and a few other things because of a deficiency). I take a multi-vitamin, a calcium supplement (osteoporosis runs in my family), omega-3 and currently echineacha (sp?) and vitamin c since everyone in my office is sick. I drink 8-10 glasses of water and no artificial sugar. I also try to avoid simple sugars (I am boarder hypoglycemic.)

Any suggestions?? I will probably gain this week if this keeps up!:confused3

oh sister i'm right with you this week........i can blame AF, maybe that is your culprit?

do you like hot tea? that is my plan today to make hot tea when i feel that need to graze......

Wish I could help more. My only thought is maybe you just need to be hungry for a while?? Are you going at least 20 minutes between each snack? They say that it takes the body at least 20 minutes to register when you have had something to eat, so be sure to wait AT LEAST that long before you decide that you are still hungry and have another snack. Drink something... I like the hot tea suggestion.

My only other thought is to make sure that the snacks involve some protein and fiber... fiber to fill you and protein to keep you from getting hungry. HTH a little bit................................P

The real annoying thing is that I will get really hungry for a while and then for a while I wont be hungry at all. If it would just stay consistent I would be OK! I started drinking carbonated water. I am thinking maybe that will trick my mind a bit. The bubbles make it "special". I added a little bit of juice to it to give it a little something since I am not into all that artificial stuff. 20 cals of juice in a large cup of seltzer might just do it.
