I paid $2.74 over the weekend for regular. Now it is more like $2.77-$2.79.
Very small range no matter where you buy, even Sam's.

I try to plan out all errands so I can get to them in one pass. Makes for a long, tiring day, but I don't see another way.

satying in the range of 2.71 to 2.95 here, depending on day. Local TV featured one station that was 2.83 Sunday, 2.95 Monday, 2.81 Tuesday, and 2.79 Wednesday. Nobody knows why the price jumped on Monday and dropped afterward.

A lot of it has to do with what your state charges in tax.

It's actually dropped a few cents here - the Kroger I pass on my way to work had regular for $2.77 this morning, and with their loyalty discount it would be $2.67. Too bad I didn't need any!

I hope the trend continues - the same station was down to $2.70 this afternoon.

Another poster got it, it's state taxes. Federal tax is 19.8 cents a gallon plus state taxes that range from 15 to 30 cents a gallon.

Two other factors that will alter the price are state enviromental regulations which hit you guys the hardest in California, and availability of Ethanol to blend into the new federally mandated blend. California gasoline is only refined in California refineries and the state can not use gas refined elsewhere because it does not meet the states requirements.
