So how many of you are going in the fall now just because of the free dining?

I'm very grateful that Disney came out with this code because it's saving us a few hundred bucks, but now I'm wondering how much more crowded it will be this year? Our entire reason for going in Sept was to avoid crowds and now I'm starting to wonder if it will still be slow there this time? Very good marketing on Disney's part! It's very hard to resist the lure of free food!

Umm. That would be me and my two kids. I just got back at the beginning of April and got the email from WDW and booked right away before it became a public thing... :cool1:

yeah me too, I was booked for early december but w three kids and two adults and 4 females who want to eat w Cindy and all the gang...I just couldn't pass it up...we upgraded resorts and are paying the SAME price now as we were at the moderate :cool1:

We had planned on taking a Girls' trip next year but decided to go ahead and go now.It is the only way I could afford to do all the character dining that will make the trip so fun for my DD6.Princesses here we come! :cheer2:

We'll be there. We are booked for May 06' but when I got that email well my Disney brain was a turning. Trying to figure out if we could save up the money to go. We are a BIG Character dining family so this is perfect for us. Now just have to strap down and save that moula. I'm not to worried about the crowds. I try real hard to book on the off season (DH not a real crowd person). But then we just look at it as "WERE GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!!!!"

There's only one thing better than a trip to WDW & that's an unexpected one!!!

we planned on going early Dec w/ any AP rate and going to MVMCP but now we are going late Sept/early Oct and doing MNSSHP.

I know the crowds will be higher than normal but we just got back in May so we will be in the restaurants stuffing ourselves :rotfl:

we're going in september to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. i don't know much about this free dining plan. we don't eat much in the parks to begin with. we eat a lot at dinner so that's where most of our money is spent on food.

Well, we were just there in December and May and were not really planning another trip until April '06 but....this is an offer that's really hard to refuse; the price is just too, too good so I think we will be going in the fall. If it's any consolation, there were all kinds of doomsday reports of huge crowds in May but we found it to be not very crowded at all. It's kind of wierd, we thought the parks SEEMED very crowded to look at the walkways, but the rides had short waits.

We had just gotten home from our May trip when the Free Dining info. came out. We didn't have any thoughts about a fall trip and then DH and I both couldn't resist. My post-Disney blues vanished and now I am having fun planning our next trip. I agree with the above poster. We were very uneasy about the May crowds because of the new MYW tickets and lots of buzz on the boards about higher than normal crowds because of the 50th anniversary celebration. The crowds during our trip were less than our May 2004 trip and the lines for us were very short or in many cases non-existent.

We are going because of the promo!!! We had no intention of going to Walt Disney World but now I am. :cool1:

We kept our same dates (10/2-10/9), but sacrificed our AAA discount to get the free dining.

I don't think the crowds will be too much worse than normal. We went a couple years ago when they were giving you the 8 day package for the price of a 4 day, and the crowds weren't what I would term "crazy big". I think the free dining is great, but I doubt it draws as many people as that deal a couple years back...at least I hope not...

I was thinking that this will make crowds heavier then usual that time of year. But I do think it was smart of Disney.

asaj
do you get free dining for all days even though you will be there past the 4th because you are getting there before the 4th????? Just curious...I know it works that way per season but didn't know about the plan working that way

 We are...we were going to go to DL for 4 nights in Sept (See my countdown?). The dining code came out and it's ending up being cheaper to go to WDW for 6 nights at a moderate resort with free food than the DL Hotel and paying for food for 4 nights!

We're going in February as planned.

We will be there from 9/3 through 9/10...could not resist the free dining, and we'll be in Florida anyway because of the repo cruise. We've never been to WDW and I am thrilled to have a week at POP for the three of us, premium tickets, and the dining for $1460.00. I've already made two PSs and will make the rest later this week.
