So, how many fastpasses do you normally do in a day?

Our trip in December we averaged 4 FP/day. We averaged around 7-8 hours a day including a table service meal in the parks. We split Epcot and Animal Kingdom into 2 days each. MK and HS were a day each.

We did early extra magic morning hours; so, we were able to get some rides done without fastpass.

We saw most everything. What we didn't see we really had no desire to do.

What I'm interested in finding out is how many fastpasses do you do if you don't do extra magic hours. I'll be having a trip next time where we won't be going to the parks early or staying late.
You can’t get FPs during extra magic. I used to love EMH, but now unless it’s til like 1-2am, I find it worthless. This summer there was EMH til 11pm in MK & we left b/c I can get much more done during the day using FP+. EMH from 9-11 wasn’t late enough so the park was still packed & wait times were long b/c there was no FP.

Same. And often at MK, I only pre-book one FP (7DMT).
Really the 1st FP is all that is important. I schedule more just because I can and in case we get to the park late (use the first FP at the end of its time and then the 2nd one right after).

Exactly. As soon as I tap the first FP I move up the 2nd FP and then do the same after using the 2nd FP.
How do you ‘move up’ fast passes and how does that help? Sorry, going next August and last time I went FP+ wasn’t a thing. I’m kind of planning on getting 3 FP+ as early in the day as possible then see what else is around after that. Can I add FP after the first ride is done? It’s all still a bit confusing to me.

Easy. Let's say you have FP+ scheduled from:

10am to 11am
11am to 12pm
12pm to 1pm

Tap into your first one at 10am. Immediately jump onto MDE and modify your 11am to 12pm FP+. Depending on time of year and how much you're willing to refresh, you may well be able to move it to 10:10am to 11:10am. Let's say you're able to do that. So when you get off your 10am ride, head straight to the next one. Rinse and repeat. We do this all the time...even this week, which is crazy busy.

Ah, ok, right. And you won’t lose your original time if you can’t modify it for an earlier time?

No. As long as you don't "confirm" any changes your looking at, you won't lose anything.
That’s really useful. Thanks. Shame there’s not a practise app to play with . I’m not looking forward to FP+ if I’m honest. We’re from the U.K. and not sure how well our phones will work over there so a bit worried about missing out on the app.

My wife, my sister and I are going in April and this is a very insightful thread! I assumed that most of the FastPasses would be full pretty early in the day but I guess like the old ticket fastpass system, they don't fill up too too fast.

Are you able to change your entire party at one time when 'bumping up'? I know it probably isn't a big deal to change one at a time (especially since I only have three in my party) but am just curious. Also, is only one MDE account the master account for changing and reserving FastPasses or can we hand off the duties to anyone in the party?

Thanks,
Brian

We usually just do 3 per day and we're done. That's enough rides for us.

We're a party of 3 and never bother splitting it up. I just keep searching for all of us. We are planning a trip next December with some family so there will be 7 of us. I've been playing around this month with FP's to see what we may need to do and have found that we will likely be needing to break it down to a group of 3 and a group of 4 and aim for overlapping times.

It depends on the park. At MK we average about 12 per day. At the rest of the parks we only use 3-5 as they just don't seem as necessary.

I fast pass most of the rides honestly. It’s just easier for me cause I usually go with only one person.

So getting 2 fast passes to any ride at any time usually ends up being easy.. if you keep trying.

It’s hard if your going with family

Usually we get 4 (3 advance and 1 extra FP+) for popular rides and at MK we can get evening ones for Buzz.

3-5..I focus on quality of FP+, not quantity. I tour early and late via standby and use my FP for when I know I'll be in the park with higher crowds.

Last April, on my MK days, open to close, no EMHs, I stopped counting at 28. This included TS breakfast and dinner, and watching Wishes. Skipped the parades, watched a show if I was walking by it to the next FP. Right after tapping in line, I had MDE open to schedule the next FP. It got tougher in the evening with fewer choices, and more hoofing it around the park. It was my goal this time to make as many FPs as I could, mission accomplished! Those two days really were a lot of fun!
