I just booked the last night of our two nights stay we needed to get before our cruise in Oct. Booked Radisson for the second night, so obviously we will be right there the morning of the cruise. Is this a pretty nice place? I paid 79. Not bad.

We liked it a lot. Enough so that we booked it again this year. We had a 1BR suite. It was very nice. I loved that there is a coffee machine, small frig and microwave. I am going to bring cereal and milk this time. Last year we had the breakfast buffet, big mistake. We were ALL way to excited to eat a big meal.
Pool area is very nice also.

FOR ONE NIGHT OR A COUPLE the rad has been fine with us before our cruises dont forget to get on the shuttle list for an early time over to the port , or if u cant get a time that is satifactiry to u just call a cab is not very far and the shuttle can get quite crowded.....
last time we where there the Avis shuttle man was bored had no one to take over so he came up to me and said would u like to go to the port we said sure and took him up on his oiffer and
had our own private ride to the port and if he was just looking to make some tip money , well he did tirns out he was also from ma. originally

We also stayed there pre night. We had a regular room and it was just fine. Nice grounds and pool. We plan to stay there again pre night.

We just returned from our cruise. The Radisson is beautiful. We had a double king suite, and it was unreal. The pool is very pretty. We went to Public's and got fruit, milk and donuts and had breakfast in the room. Believe me you will be to EXCITED to eat much. Have a great time.
Anne:)

How close is the Publix? Can you walk there? Would like to get some sodas for the cruise but I'm not planning on renting a car.

We have also stayed at the Radisson twice pre cruise. In Feb we had the 2 king suite and it was awesome and as stated above. This week we stayed and had the two room suite but with only one king bed. It was also very nice and I would definitely book it again. The pool area is very nice. The restaurant was very agreeble and was able to seat our hungry crowd of 17 for dinner. All the other rest. we called could not accmodate any of us for hours.

Our friends had the regular double bed room and it was very tastefully decorated.

Hope that helps!!

Our group has five of the $59 'FALL' rooms reserved for Dec. You are making me wish we had reserved the suites. I hope we won't be too dissappointed. Can anyone offer any advise on the shuttle in the morn....I have read on the trip brd it is managed very poorly. Is it something you need an appt for? With a grp of 16 excited people, two being babies, I would very much like things to run smoothly. ;)

There are no grocery stores (Publix or Winn-Dixie) within walking distance of the Radisson, but you could pick up some sodas from a convenience store (RaceTrac) about two blocks away.

Yes, you need to make reservations for the shuttle as soon as you check in. It's a 15-passenger van, probably less since I imagine they've removed one of the seats to allow for luggage storage. Your group will probably require two runs.

Dave,

If I have an Avis rental that I am dropping at the Radisonn on the day of the cruise, do I have to make an appointment to use that shuttle to take me over to the port?

Thanks

No appointment necessary. But what I recommend is taking your baggage and most of your party over to the cruise terminal in your rental car. Then one person can take the car back to Avis to return it. Very easy for one person with no luggage to pop into either the Avis or the Radisson shuttle.

Excellent suggestion.

but we walked out early & the avis van was just sitting there empty, with the "avis dude" offering to zip us over there. We had been so stressed that we had called the radison from CA that am to make sure we got on "the list" for the following day, but I think the key was getting out front by 10 (yep, it was early!). It was fun being first in line at the port, too.

We plan to keep our Avis van on Sunday morning to take everyone over to the Wonder. Do I understand correctly that both Avis and the Raddison (we are staying there Sat. night) have shuttle vans or are they the same van. Will the Avis shuttle actually take me to the dock and if so do I even need a reservation on the Raddison shuttle if it will only be myself?

The Avis shuttle and the Radisson shuttle are separate vans. The Avis van will take you right to the dock to where they ( the ships personnel) will take your luggage.
