Just back from a Florida vacation where we spent August 10-12 at the RP. The hotel was great...room was very nice...our first time there. Last time we stayed at the HR. I enjoyed the pool at night after a long day in the parks with the kids.
We saw the Blue Men Group on Friday the 10th. AMAZING! We all enjoyed...but a funny story....my 9 year old son has a very strong gag reflex, and during the mashed banana/twinkie scene, I looked over at him and he was actually throwing up the blue slushy drink we had just bought him !!! We were in the front row...so I guess the smells and the action was a little too close for comfort for him!! Poor little guy...he took it all in stride though...
I thought the show was phenomenal. I wished we could've seen it again...because the first time, I was just so mesmerized, I think the second time I would've enjoyed it more!!
Also, the FOTL access is worth its weight in GOLD, I tell you!!
I felt a twinge of guilt every time we were whisked to the very front of the attraction and practically had zero wait time!! The regular lines were unbearably long...I really don't know how people do it! We have two boys...one with Aspergers/ADHD, and we would not have been able to stand in the regular lines with him. I loved the MIB ride...and the Cat in the Hat...and Spiderman was amazing.
We purchased the food plan...which probably saved us a ton of money...but by the end of the 2nd day, we were sooooo tired of the few restaurants on the list. The lines were way too long and slow in some of them...and the food was mediocre.
All in all, it was a good trip, although I would not go again in August. The heat index was 128!! I thank God for the little battery powered fans we had. We also bought a misting fan...which was absolutely necessary. Night time was much better without the heat of the sun pounding on you.
Happy Travels to those who are going this week!
