I'm beyond frustrated with this rewards site right now I just want to scream. I signed up for Netflex with them. The offer came in an email saying if we signed up we would get 1000 points. I clicked through it signed up and was never credited. After numerous emails they are telling me this:

Thank you for contacting MyPoints Member Services.

When you click on a merchant link on the MyPoints site or in a MyPoints BonusMail, a Clickthru is recorded in your Account Statement. To earn Points with MyPoints merchants, you must link to the merchant site through MyPoints links. This enables the merchant to recognize you as a MyPoints member and report your purchase to us. If a MyPoints link does not redirect you to the client site or you are served an error message, please try the link again later. If you proceed directly to the merchant site, your Clickthru will not be recorded because you did not use a MyPoints link and you will not earn Points for your purchase.

Our records indicate there was not a corresponding Clickthru for your transaction. Unfortunately, we are unable to credit Points to your account because this purchase was not made using a MyPoints link. In the future, please be sure that you always use a MyPoints link when making a purchase because missing purchase Points can only be credited if there is a corresponding Clickthru in your Account Statement.

To review your Account Statement, please log in to MyPoints and click on the My Account link at the top right-hand corner of the page. Next, click on the Account Statement button located toward the middle of the screen.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,

OH COME ON. They sent me the email and I click throught the friggen red button.

How can they do this? Does this happen to other people? Are they scammers?

I went to the site and they do not have a phone number to call - just the email contact number.

Does anybody have any suggestions for me?

I did save my confirmation from Netflex.

Man I hate to be ripped off. Really do!

I have had that problem with them doing an Avon offer. Several times others here have also had the same thing happen. THere have been a few people who have repeatedly emailed them and finally gotten thier points. I just shop through EBates, while they very rarely have "extra" offers, I have never had any problems getting credited.

I had this experience last week with an offer that didn't credit. But the click-thru did list my click - it was AARP and offered 500 points. I did NOT save my confirmation email like a dummy but MyPoints was quick to respond and stated that another email from the company confirming that I did join on that day would suffice. So 3 days later after emailing them the confirmation they credited my 500 points. Not a bad turnaround - 3 days and that included me emailing AARP for the confirmation.

This is the only experience I have had of offers not crediting. I have been a member for over 4 years.

I'm sorry you are having problems.

ive done the netflix click thru and gotten the 1000 points. I sometimes wonder if spam blocers and firewall interfere with the transmission of these click thrus. It does require a tracking cookie. Sorry to hear that you have had a problem.

You may have had another cookie in your computer from clicking on a different Netflix link from some other site at some point and whoevers link that was may have gotten credit for the offer rather than mypoints. This happened to me a few years back on quickrewards. The webmaster of QR was very nice about looking into it and it turned out that the mycoupons website had gotten my shopping credit rather than QR due to an already existing cookie on my machine. Now I make sure to clear my cookies before doing any larger offers.

You could try to contact netflix and see if someone else got credit for your signup. It wouldn't help you get the points from mypoints but at least you would know what happened.

I would suggest emailing them again before you give up. I had difficulty getting credited for a few things lately and received a variety of responses from MyPoints reps - I found that if I was persistent (I also pointed out to them that I had read posts on this board that others were having problems and that I hoped they wanted to maintain a positive image) I have almost always ended up getting the points. The last time they emailed me that I would get the points as a "goodwill gesture", other times they just appeared and then I would receive an email afterwards that "oh we see the points were added" - of course this was over 2 months after the offer completion and just happened to appear after my emails- but hey I figure I did the work to earn points that they offered! :surfweb:

Sadly, this happens quite a bit. When it is really bad is when a non-rewards site gets the credit because of a cookie that they placed on your computer when you did not know (like when you download a toolbar or game or screensaver). Then you get nothing at all for it and the company who essentially tricked you get the commission. Fortunately, the online industry is trying to crack down on companies like that. But companies like QR, SR, CR, CTTM, etc (us little guys) have the hardest time fighting back.

Thank you everyone for your support! Really! Very nice!

I had to laugh at myself when I scaned over what I wrote before. I really was upset! So silly over something so small in life.

I did end up calling My Points long distance to just get an answering machine and nobody has returned my call. I sent off two more emails so we'll see.

I don't think i'll ever shop or buy through them again. Burned once sham on them burned twice sham on me. I also feel like they are so big your just a number to them. I like dealing better with Quick Rewards and Sunshine. I feel valued there.

FYI - I always clear cookies before going on to each site and ordering or doing anything and I've never once downloaded anything. It's one of my pet peeves or fears that i'll get stuck with something ugly.

Thanks for all the support! You guys are awesome!

I'm slightly computer illiterate so bear with me, please. When you say you "clear" cookies is that the same thing as "deleteing" cookies in my Temporary Internet File? (Tools, Internet Options, Delete Cookies?) I hate to click on anything marked DELETE on my computer! I don't see anywhere else to CLEAR them. I do have cookies enabled. I'm working with Windows ME edition if that helps.

Twice I've had purchases not show up (Disney Shopping & Overstock), although it has always shown that I've clicked through MyPoints to where I've shopped. I was credited promptly both times after sending an email along with my confirmation of purchase. Hope you're able to get it straightened out.
