I'm so looking forward to our trip in April that I just had to share. We are flying into Tampa to spend a week with the in-laws, but hopefully that means a trip to Busch Gardens (especially since I already bought the tickets). Then the real fun starts when we drive to Orlando and stay at the Homewood Suites/Universal. I was planning to do a night at RPR but our finances are really tight, so that is on hold right now. I have three full days for the parks, but after we check-out of Homewood Suites, we are checking into the Nick Hotel, so we can certainly revisit US/IOA.
I swear I have booked, cancelled and re-booked aspects of this trip several times in order to get the best deals. Originally I was going to start and end in Orlando, sandwiching in-laws between. That would have put us at US for Mardi Gras, but saving US/IOA for the end of our trip means we get more than a handful of days there and hopefully it will be less crowded toward the end of April. I'm going to get our tickets from the UK website with the 5 day/kids free, that way we can visit Wet and Wild if we want.
Best of all, my family has no idea what we are doing!!! The kids won't know until we get to the airport, my in-laws won't know until I call them after we land, and my DH knows he needs 2 weeks off and we are surprising his parents and the kids, but he is clueless as to the particulars. The in-laws invited us down but we told them we didn't think we could afford to go, so they won't be too put out by our arrival.
