So Excited - To Those Who Get It!!

So yesterday as we all froze in the eastern part of the states, I started thinking about going somewhere warm for the end of February. After some searching, I found Jet Blue flights on Orbitz from Newburgh to Orlando for $200, then called MS to find out what they had available. Much to my surprise, for my second choice of dates she had AKL- Kidani savanna view studio available and so I booked it. I've always wanted to try a SV at AKL so this seemed perfect. For those interested, there is studio availability from Feb 20 - Mar 15 at SSR, OKW, and AKL (standard view). I was thinking of waitlisting BCV since we've not tried those yet either but I really want to stay at Kidani so no wait list. My co-workers are going to tease me relentlessly tomorrow, but they just don't understand that this is what happens when you have an AP and DVC!!!

I would have gone sooner but I was afraid it may not be warm enough down there till then.

Funny you wrote this. I live in NJ and this morning I had this truly overwhelming feeling of "Wow, I wish I could just plan a spur-of-the-moment visit and get out of the cold". We are going in May and sometimes I feel like I just can't wait any longer! Enjoy!

Jet Blue had some pretty good specials from Newark for February too - but Newburgh is really very easy for us. Not that I'm twisting your arm or anything.

Oh My goodness we totally GET IT!

We just did the same thing today. My sister called me yesterday around 5pm and said my BIL wants to get out of this cold. Her son has off two days end of January. Unfortunately I did not have any points left because we are all going to Kidani in June! (In fact I just checked and got my waitlist for a dedicated two bedroom!) My wonderful husband said it was ok with him if I left him home with the two kids while I went with my Sis and her hubby and son to Disney in two weeks!! He is the bestest hubby! (of course it could be that I asked him while the Ravens were beating up on the Patriots today, I am pretty sure he heard me when I said we booked flights)

Any whoo! We got on the rent trade boards and rented points from a nice DIS gentlemen that was about to lose his points and booked a 1bedroom at SSR. Checked southwest out of Baltimore and got great times for 168 RT for each of us!! Only thing is I have an AP and they don't so this will be more a relax trip. That is why we chose SSR to be close to DTD!

Congrats on your last minute trip. You will probably have warmer weather than us, but still it has to be better than what we have had these last weeks! Be sure to come back and tell us what you think of Kidani. We will be super curious and can't wait for June! Have an awesome trip!

Oh, I soooo understand. Don't let your co-workers tease you too much. You know they are just jealous. We are doing a 3 day trip 3/7. I think the spur of the moment trips are the best. What better than unexpected magic? Have a wonderful time.

Yup, that's exactly it. We added a trip at the end of January to get out of the cold Midwest and then added another trip at the end of April to do another DCL cruise. Just yesterday DH memtioned that we will be in WDW Jan/Feb, March, April/May, Oct and Dec. Since our "rule" is that we don't set foot in Florida during the summer months, the only month I have left to add Disney time to is November!

All those months add up to 5 separate trips. Yup, we should have stock in the airlines.

Congrats to you as well, your husband is awesome and SSR is perfect for a laid back trip. I saw that the jet streams should be back to normal by the end of this week so here's hoping your weather is sunny and warm. But aren't APs just divine!

Thanks. My boss said something about seeking professional help and she thought our health insurance would cover the cost of one on one sessions. And you're right - they are jealous.

So understand it! Just booked a trip on Jan 2nd for the end of Jan and got 2 nights at OKW and 2 nights at BWV (adults only ) - woohoo! Now, we just have to hope that it warms up in FL Plus we had some airline vouchers that had to be used by the 1st of March which just sweetened the deal.

Yesterday I got the bright idea of going to WDW for my birthday (2/3). From Newark to Orlando, Continental was $153!! Then I was able to get Narcoossee's for my special birthday dinner. I was hoping the good times would roll and that we'd pull off a 1br @ BLT but we settled for a studio at VWL instead. Good times, I love last minute trips!!

Actually, today I got an e-mail from a DCuz inviting me to stay with her/them at the BCV! She's not DVC, but got a great rate for BCV 2 bedroom. I'm real close to booking my air. Will you be in WDW February 19 - 22, our dates?

Totally get it!!!! I banked my 2009 points so had a bunch extra and figured that I would rent them all out including my 2010 points. I found a lovely family that has never been and in our lengthy discussions....have unofficially become their WDW guide. Well.....all of that Disney talk got me too excited and I used some of my points to book eight nights LV BLT Studio and am hoping to do two nights at the Poly (40% military discount). My youngest son has always dreamed of staying there and it is his last year as a child per Disney so we are taking advantage of the QSDP. MY DS14 is excited for the refillable mug and 2 snacks/ day. He is easy.....snacks and DisneyQuest.
Y friends say that I have an illness.....I don't want to be cure from my Disney-itis! It is my Happy Place.
