I am so excited to find this board! I have been endlessly researching my (future) Disney wedding. My fiance and I definitely want one, but we're a little concerned about cost. I know an intimate wedding can run almost into 10k. So my thought is, why not go ahead and have a custom wedding? Our budget is to stay under 12k. We'll have about 12-20 guests. Think it's possible?
Also, does either package include your park tickets and can your room cost apply towards the $10k minimum of the custom? (We'll do it on Mon.-Thurs.)
Thanks!

Erin
(P.S- everyone's wedding pictures are so beautiful, they practically make me cry!)

Welcome...I'm sure others can answer your specific questions about customs.

We had an intimate and just so you know, our TOTAL cost (including souvenirs, air fare, and kennels for our dogs) was under $6000

If you fill your room requirement, then you'll get a complimentary room for the wedding night. They will recommend a suite, but dont be disappointed. But with a custom, anything disney the day of your wedding, can be included. Im not sure, but I believe any Disney spa treatment can count towards your minimum if it's on the day of. If you have a custom on a weekday with a 10k minimum, then with that amount of guests, you could even throw an after party in, or have more lush floral and transportation. Also, any photo/video package counts, like the MK photo shoot. Good luck I hope I helped, but yeah, you could swing a 12k custom, I am.

Hi,

As far as I know, an Intimate wedding starts at $2650 for an outdoor location (i.e Yacht Club gazebo) and add $1000 for the Wedding Paviion (if you want). Then add your 4 nights minimum. Your nights can be at any Disney hotels including the All-Stars ($100/night). You probably come up to around $4500.

With an Intimate Wedding, small reception with cake after the ceremony, champagne for a (4?) guests is included so you would need to add champagne for your guests counts for a nominal fee.

With an Intimate Wedding, your photography by Disney is included. You can elect to choose your own external photographer (extra) and get the credit for a honeymoon photoshoot by Disney.

In all you could do an Intimate for much less than 10K. You certainly can make it a 10K by adding Disney extras like coach, characters etc... if you wish.

There is a limit for the number of guests with an Intimate.

Custom Wedding STARTS at 10K. Your room cost would count towards the minimum (for Intimate - sorry for the confusion - edited). With a Custom Wedding you get to pick the food for the reception, locations etc...

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the DIS!

With 10-20 guests, I don't think you would have a problem of hitting the weekday minimum and staying within your budget for a custom wedding. Disney is very good about helping people stay in budget, although sometimes all the extras that Disney has to offer are hard to resist!

Starting this year, spa/golf no longer counts toward your minimum - unless your SM/EM told you it did, in which case they may make an exception. --check with your SM

MK photo shoot counts toward the minimum as long as it is done on the day of.

Only day of things count toward the minimum, so rehearsal party the day before, farewall breakfast the morning after, and MK photo shoot if you do it before/after, won't count toward the minimum.

With a small guest list, I think it's possible to stay near the custom minimum. Just let Disney know what your budget is, and they will work with you to choose things within that budget. For custom weddings, your hotel cost does not count toward the minimum. For a while custom brides received annual passes, but I'm not sure they are still doing that promotion so I wouldn't count on that. Happy planning! :)

Nice to see ya here. Don't forget to check out a wish book on DIsneyweddings website that could help you estimate how much it will cost on the basics.
