After camping at the Fort a few times before, I finally talked my DH into going back in October 2011 for a week. I have been working this idea for a while, hehehe.... This past weekend, he told me to go ahead and book it!

So today, as I am checking out dates, etc. he calls me and says, "I would rather take a cruise." NO NO NO NO. LOL!

*sigh* I pretended to be happy about the cruise. But, I want to camp at the Fort!!! I told him I would research cruise prices. I think I'll look at uber expensive ones, so he thinks the Fort is cheaper. Would that be evil of me?

hahahaha I'd be doing the same thing...............but I gotta admit...........I'd be taking the cruise. LOL

Evil yes....but perfectly understandable in my opinion :rotfl: I would rather stay at the Fort then on a ship, but my DH might beg to differ just because it is a long haul from MI to FL.

Many years ago we did a combo, Disney land & sea,,,course, don't know what kinda prices $$ they have now, :confused3

We usually cruise out of Port Canaveral or on two occasions Miami. It has not failed that when we see the sign to get off for WDW, we confess we would probably rather go there than cruise. However, we still have a great time.

We were at the Fort over Chistmas from Dec 21 to Jan 1 and had a great time, love that time of year there.

We were all set to go again for a week in March but decided to price a cruise just to compare. As it turns out, a 7 day Mediterranean cruise (with air) to Spain and Italy will cost us less than our December Fort trip, the cruise pricing is for a suite for 5 people with butler service.

We booked the cruise because the Fort doesn't offer butler services

I hear you can take a couple cruises, albeit short ones, from the fort.:thumbsup2 They may stop at various resorts, connect with other short cruise and take you to a fantasy land. Shopping and dining at these locations are great. And you often get a great view of fireworks during the evening cruising hours.

No worries about a great big sea (tsunami) heaving over:scared:, in fact never any rough seas to worry about.
No fear of those dreaded cruise weight gains.
There's virtually a 360degree view of the water.:boat:

I'd pick camping!

(but I live with a daily view of the ocean:lovestruc..... if I didn't, I'd be having to do some really quick talking to convince myself to take a vacation that did not include ocean)

The cruise will definitely be more money for us. I've priced it out. We have friends that work for WDW, so we don't pay to get in. When we go, we only pay for camping, food and extras; so we can go on the cheap for the most part, if we are careful.

DH wants to celebrate b/c if we stay on track, we will have paid off a major Credit card in September.

What is sad is the price of camp site prices plus the gas it takes to get there costs as much if not more than a cruise. I was just looking at booking another Fort trip because I am having withdrawls and I believe they are pricing their selves right out of my league:scared1: ($100+ per night). I guess it is an addiction I don't want to break but will have to.:confused3

not everyone who uses their credit card for everything has credit card debt.....
I use mine all the time, for both the rewards and buyer protection. I have no debt! Is true though, credit cards are not for everyone!!

Haha..DH was reading over my shoulder and said,
"Hey! You posted! Let me read it!" :scared1:

He chuckled and said we'd probably go camping now instead of the cruise! :rotfl2:
