Hello there. My brother and I are going for Christmas Eve through to boxing day and are looking to book restaurants to make this a really special time.

We've looked at the actual Christmas meals they are offering and don't really like the look of the prices so want to ask if anybody knows if the regular menus will be available too?

We are looking to do Walts on either Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and Auberge de Cendrillon on either Christmas Eve or Christmas day.

According to dlrpmagic.com the price for the Adult menu at Auberge de Cendrillon is €64.99 which is about £55.67 which I really don't think is all that bad! Does anybody know if these prices are still accurate?

The same with at Walt's, the most expensive menu without going a la carte is €56.78 which is about £48.59 which I don't think is bad either.

Please help me answer some questions :)

Do you think this is a good idea?

Also which one would you choose for either Christmas Eve or Day?

At Auberge de Cendrillon, do you have to pay extra on top of the menu to have the character dining experience?

Does anybody recommend getting a food plan? We have Dream APs so we do get some discount at restaurants etc.

And what time of day would be best so we don't miss out on things such as the parade and Christmas Tree lighting ceremony etc?

SORRY for all of my questions but would you please recommend other good places that we could eat at? We love the sound of eating in the park but are open minded to other places too :)

Thank you very much!

The regular menu should be offered when there isn't a special Christmas meal which is mainly Christmas Eve dinner and usually a lunch on Christmas Day at either the Newport Bay or New York. When we went for Christmas a few years ago we didn't do any of the special meals as they are verging on silly money, we ate our Christmas lunch at The Lucky Nugget and had a wonderful time. We found by eating at lunchtime it still seemed like Christmas (as much as it can when you're away from home!) and kept our evening free for watching the tree lighting etc.

I'd definitely recommend booking in advance for this time of year and when you do this the CM will be able to confirm if the regular menu is available.

Walt's is my favourite restaurant at DLP. It usually hosts a special Christmas Eve dinner so if you choose that day you'll only be able to eat the regular menu at lunchtime (although do check with Dining Reservations to be certain!) I've not been to Auberge since it started character meals (included in price) but it's certainly a beautiful restaurant.

If you've got a Dream AP I wouldn't bother with meal vouchers, IMO they're too restrictive and not the saving they once were.

Where have you eaten before at DLP - so we don't suggest somewhere you've already been?
