I am so excited, I have talked my husband into going on a family vacation instead of just me and him. SOOOO... May 19-24th we will be at WDW!

Just waiting for our income tax to come in this week to actually book everything. I have been stuck to this website since I came across it last week!! The info is great, I have almost 4 months more of sitting on this site making note after note in my book LOL!

DS6 is kind of excited but doesn't really know what to expect, I am on :cloud9: and DH could kind of care less.. He better watch out because I am going to the Disney Outlet next week and if he doesn't straighten up he's going to be in Disney shirts every day we are there.. He better remember who does the packing:rotfl:I have asked him a million times if we can wear matching shirts but he REFUSES.. so maybe I can sneak in one day where he doesn't have a choice :rotfl2:

Any "must-dos" for a 6 year old on his first (that he remembers) trip?
We took him when he was 2 and he doesn't remember anything so this is completely new to him.

Welcome to the DISboards! I'm excited for you guys (lots of excitement in me this morning)!

I bet DH is just trying to be "manly" about it. He'll come around ;)

Some must-dos I would recommend:

Buzz Lightyear
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Pirates of the Caribbean
Test Track
Lights, Motors, Action Extreme Stunt Show

Also, since you seem to be new to the Disney blog/message board world - I would like to highly recommend www.allears.net

thanks!!! yeah I am hoping he likes Pirates of the Carribean. He loves the movie and Dh and I LOVE that ride, I could just ride that one ALL day long!! :) :)

We are doing the 4day park hopper with water park option.. do you think that ride at the water park with the Yeti is too much for a 6 year old?

I can't think of the name of the ride (sorry guys lol)
I guess at that age it could go either way, sometimes they surprise u and LOVE thrill rides, then sometimes they hate them. :confused3

The ride with the Yeti is at Animal Kingdom. It's Expedition Everest. I'm a big chicken and had my eyes closed (something about going backwards freaks me out). I would see how he reacts to BTMRR and gauge from that. Maybe warn him that EE will go backwards for a little bit. That way he can prepare himself for it. Everyone takes Roller Coasters differently (I'm a total chicken and BTMRR is really the only one I'm okay with... may have to do with being traumatized by the Hulk at Universal). Last I heard, the Yeti didn't work - but I've been on a Disney hiatus since I didn't think we were going to be able to go this year, so it's likely (s)he works now. :)
