DH and I are travelling to Orlando for a mini trip this May. We are so excited to spend time together visting the things we love best and trying some new things as well.

We arrive on a Tuesday afternoon and will be styaing at the Marriot Grand Vista. We plan on enjoying the amenities of the resort the first day. We may visit downtown Disney if we are up to it. We only have a one day park hopper ticket left from previous trips so we plan to head to EPCOT on Wednesday. We are not sure if we will travel to other parks yet. Epcot is our favorite so with only one day, we may never leave:banana:

On Thursday, we are planning on heading to Celebration to walk around and possibly visit an Irish pub. We also have not been to Old Town in about 20 years so we may take some time to visit there as well. We may end up at Downtown Disney to catch a movie as I have free movie tickets for AMC Theatres.

On Friday, we are booked on day trip to visit Crystal River to snorkle with the Manatees and take an airboat ride. We have always wanted to swim wiht the manatees. We head home on Saturday....

I am so looking forward to this time with my husband doing the things we enjoy so much!

Does anyone else enjoy going with just their spouse? We just returned from a trip to Orlando with our kids in February. We had lots of fun, but its a very different trip. For me, it will be nice not to be planning for everyone.

Congratulations! DBF & I are taking a trip in May also sans kids. I have taken my kids there numerous times but this will be a chance to see and do things I couldn't with them. My boyfriend has not been to Disney since he was in the army in th 80's so I can't wait for him to se how it has changed . He is a big blues fan as he hails from NOLA so we plan on going to. BB Kings Blues Club too. We took my 3 kids on a cruise in January but I see nothing wrong with adults taking time to do stuff alone too!

How exciting for you and your DBF! I have seen advertisements for the BB KIng Blues Club. If you get a chance can you post information about your experience there? It may have to be added to a future trip...or maybe this next trip:goodvibes

Have a great time and enjoy your adults time!

I don't think you're going to find anyone to give you a guilt trip here. I am so looking forward to May when I go down to Anaheim by myself for a couple of days, and even more to July when I go down with mostly adult family for 5 days. I'll be avoiding my 10 year old nephew like the plague. Next May it's going to be just me, my best friend and her mom in Orlando at POFQ. That is going to be incredibly awesome.

My husband and I are also headed in May for 5 days sans kids. This is our First trip in 20+ years without children and it still seems like a dream. I am sooo excited.

Its fun to plan what we can do and not have to make everyone happy.

Amen to that. It's so nice to just wake up each morning and think...hmmm, what do I feel like doing today:goodvibes

My husband and I took our first trip alone last spring. It was so wonderful...I had to do it again.

We're doing this in November. Both kids finally in college and both quite jealous. ;-)

We'll be there in May too for a short trip , just DH and me:thumbsup2 for birthday cocktails around World Showcase, catching up on my reading by the quiet pool at POR, and eating WHAT we want,WHEN we want:goodvibes

Enjoy!

I'm glad for you and hope you have a great trip.

It's only DH & I and usually I plan around evening EMH to maximize our days
at each park. So far, so good. There's something special walking thru the park at night. However, I understand if this doesn't work in your plans.

Just have a great trip and enjoy...:thumbsup2

My DH and I will also be there in May for our Anniversary, sans kids we arrive late on Tuesday evening and have to leave on Saturday early evening. We did this a couple of years ago and we had a great time. Matter of fact last year we went to Hawaii for 10 days last year for our 20th anniversary and the highlight of our trip was going to visit Aulani to get our Mickey fix.

The kids get to go in September for 9 days for my son's b-day and we are in the process of planning a 3rd quick trip as a surprise for my daughter to celeberate her b-day as we have promised her would would take her for her b-day sometime. Unfortunatley it will not be on her exact b-day as her b-day is Dec 23rd and it will be crazy at the World at that time so it will be an un-birthday surprise trip in early Dec.

This sounds so much like us. My DH and I are beginning to plan our 20th Anniversary (next year) and set on going to Hawaii. We'd love to hear any must do's and highlights from your trip. In the mean time, we are counting down the days to our May trip. The funny thing is our air travel was changed by the airlines and we have to travel a day early...gee that's too bad :lmao:
