HE comes to ours and plays little tricks. He even uses the potty and forgets to flush. He leaves the kids chocolate gold coins so all is forgiven. So does he visit your kids?

this is the cutest idea!!!!!!!!!
No he doesn't vist ours!
But it sounds pretty fun at your place! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I have never heard of this. Forgets to flush? That's just a normal day at my house

nope no visit here but, it is dh b-day and nope not a bit of irish in us!

We call them the "wee people". They always visit our house. When my DS12 was little he thought it was funny that the wee people turned our gallons of milk green. He asked me why the wee people peed in our milk. Since then that is what we way when the milk turns green. What can I say....it is cute especially when you have a house full of boys. Have a great day!!

No......our March 17th celebration is our Wedding Anniversary. Nothing Irish about either of us either. It was just by sheer coincidence that we were married on St. Patrick's Day.

But I was able to get by with wearing green socks with my Tux!! :cool1: :thumbsup2 :clown:

No visit to our home, but as a K teacher one always came to visit! My class would set traps to try to catch him overnight. In the morning the room is always trashed and there are footprints and tons of chocolate gold coins everywhere. He leaves clues to take us all over the school (small church pre-k/k) and usually leaves green popsicles in the freezer. A BIG HIT with the kiddos...the church staff knows to bring ear plugs that day to cover the squeals!!!! :)

I helped with my sons K class a few years ago. The teacher had the kids decorate styrofoam cups and put them in the hall "to dry". While they were busy with class work I snuck through the hall and took all of the cups to the kitchen. I put them upside down on cookie sheets and put them in the oven for 2-3 minutes at 200 and they shrunk to about 1/2 the size (you have to be careful or the bottom my totally disappear). I then filled them with green m&ms and put them back in the hall where I found them. My son talked about what they found for weeks. It was truly precious and he still doesn't know how it happened.

I love this! I think I will give it a try.

When my kids were wee ones, the leprechaun did indeed visit! The kids would wake up to find kitchen chairs overturned and sometimes roped together, shoes ties together, candy inside hats and mittens, which were strewn all over the place!! What a mess that leprechaun left! (DS insisted that the rope on the chairs was first used when the leprechaun tried to tie up the cat! LOL ) Another trick was that the kids never knew exactly when the little elf would appear--anywhere from March 16-18. :goodvibes

Yes he usually brings DH a case of beer that he puts under the St. Patrick's Day tree. This year he delivered it a week early.

Shouldn't the milk have turned yellow ? or is leprechaun pee green? That's funny.

Love this thread! Great Ideas.... I think I might have to try that this year!!

This is the cutest thing I've ever heard! I'm am so going to do this when I have kids.

Growing up the leprechanuns always visited my house on St. Pats day. I belived in them long after santa and the easter bunny because I had almost caught one. I came home one day with my parents and as we opened the front door the back door slammed shut. We went inside and there were andes mints all over the kitchen and the living room. My sister and I were sure we had just missed them. MY mom kept it up for years even sending mints to my roomates in college so they could put them out. My DH has also done it a couple times although he forgot last year. It is something that I plan to do for my son when he is old enough.
I also remember that when I was in kindergarden they visited us there as well. It wasnt until I became a big 4th grader and we went to the kindergarden room to mess it up a bit and leave candy that we learned who did it.

NO Irish men visit here either. Cute ideas at your house. :thumbsup2
