So Disappointed with Photopass at DLR Jedi Training Academy

We just got back home from our first DLR trip (we've been to WDW many times, but this was our family's first CA trip.) We had a wonderful trip, but for the first time I am so disappointed with the photopass experience. On our last day of vacation, Aug 21, my son (age 7) was selected for the Jedi Training on DLR. He has done it a few times in WDW, but as this was his first ever trip to DLR he was so excited and then he was one of the kids who fought against Darth Maul (he's been against Darth Vader at WDW.) I tried to get some good pics with my camera, but a rude lady standing near me kept stepping into my photos. She was standing up and shouting instructions to her kid the entire time. I tried working around her, but she kept moving directly into my line of sight. I would step left to see around her and she would step left in front of me. I really don't think it was intentional, but when I said "excuse me" she just looked over her shoulder at me and did not move. After getting 8 photos of her back and head blocking my son, I was so frustrated that I said loudly "I GIVE UP!" and figured I'd just have to rely on the photopass photographers. (I had already purchased the photopass+.) At that point the loud blocking lady, turned around and started gave me a really nasty glare. Whatever. At the conclusion, the photographer gave out the photopass cards so we could later add the photos at the photo store on Main Street.

When we went to the photo store that evening after the parade to add the photos they had a problem. None of the photos were downloaded. We stood there while they tried to fix it for an hour. So frustrating, but I figured that it would be worth the wait to get the photos of my son with Darth Maul. After an hour we were told, something went wrong and sorry but no photos. They promised to keep checking and get back to us. We were hoping for some Disney Magic. When we got home the next night, we checked and no luck. Still no Jedi pictures from our session. We have spoken with Photopass Guest Services multiple times and they were only able to locate the photos of the kids that fought Darth Vader. Nothing of any of the action fighting Darth Maul. We did get 3 photos of my son onstage in a group with his certificate, but that's it. No action shots. They have no idea why. Faulty equipment, photographer error, upload error. It doesn't matter. Bottom line: No pictures for us.

So just as a word of caution to everyone who like me has gotten spoiled by the great photos that the photopass photographers take, always always always take your own pictures too if they are important to you. Don't let rude people crowd you. Find a way around them to get your pictures. I'm so sad that I didn't persist and take other pictures.

Aw, man that really sucks! But good advice, I do rely on the PP photographers. I've only ever "lost" 1 PP photo but I had a backup on my camera. It was a picture of my DD with Captain Jack at the Princess and Pirate party at WDW in 2008. I wanted to add the special party frame available on the website, so that was my big disappointed, but for you to not have any must be especially hard. So sorry that happened to you.
