I am so glad that everyone has been able to get the MYW Dining Plan free for their vacations. However, we will be at WDW the week before the "free" dining plan starts (in August). Our kids school starts on 08-25-05 and my DS cannot afford to miss any school!!! Not even the first day - he really struggled while he was in middle school - he will be starting High School this fall and needs to start off on a good foot!!! :rolleyes1

I wish they would roll back the free dining plan just two weeks and we would get our entire stay. We basically have 5 adults on this trip - DS and his friend are both 6' tall - only 14 years old!!! And my DD is only 11, but she is very big for her age - I am 5' 11" so I guess she gets it from me!! so everyone eats and will pay on the plan like an adult. I still think we will save money in the end on the plan as these boys can really put some food away - I am really amazed sometimes to watch them eat!! :earseek:

I really wish we could save some money on this trip, but does not look like that is going to happen!!! Not even with the Disney Visa - I think after this trip I am going to cancel that card as I got it for WDW discounts and they dont seem to want to offer any.

I'm there the same week as you. Very depressing. The airfares are double now too since I booked so I've been playing with the numbers since yesterday.

I feel for you. :sad2:

8/11-8/18, here. Ah well, I had to cancel my trip last November, so I guess I'm not going to complain too much--at least I still get to go on this trip!

Lindsay...

If you look at the Restaurant board - up near the top is an announcement - about the Magic Your Way Plus Dining - that announcement tells all about the ability to add the dining onto a vacation package for free - only for stays during certain dates. Check out the announcement - it should tell you what you need to know.

Hope that helps!!!

We arrive on the 10th of October!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

It sure would have helped our group of 12 people who have ALL purchased the Dining Plan. What a bummer :sad2: !

Wait, so if we could make our stay during ONE day of that time (like ending around the 22nd) we could get the free dining the entire time? I would delay our honeymoon a couple weeks for that deal...I tried to work it out, but my Master's program starts back later the week of the 21st...can I do that?

:sad2: well that is a bummer!!! :sad2:

I am happy with the dining plan, :cool1: but free...WoW that would have been sweet!
maybe next time :confused3

Well, if our trip was two weeks earlier we would have saved over $700 on dining AND had the Value season rate on the resort. Probably a total of nearly $1000. What a difference a day makes, as they say.

We don't arrive until October 14, so we pay regular season on the resort and full price for dining.

BUT I am trying to keep it in perspective. I knew people were getting PINs for free dining and I knew it wasn't for our dates, so I tried not to let it bother me. Yes, it sucks to pay an extra $1000 but I KNEW we weren't in value season and I KNEW people were getting free dining. Doesn't change anything, really, since we can't change our dates. We will just have to eat A LOT of food to get our money's worth! :rotfl:

Add me to the list of LEFT OUT Diners.

We are there Aug 8-15. My kids play multiple sports year round and are going to a NERD camp(look up CTY) for three weeks during summer so this is the only week available.
Wife and kids bring the total dining plan to $980.

At least I got a AAA discount on the room.

I know that it sucks no being able to have the free plan....

But if you are going during a time when they do not offer this and are STILL on the dining plan, it will still be great. Just think of how much you are going to be able to eat for 35 /day!

I thought of trying to change my vacation but opted not to. Too close for my kids return to school.

Oh, well! At least I'm on the plan, and it still is quite a bargain.....

Maybe next time!

Couldn't you move your trip up by one day? The free dining programs ends on the 9th, correct? I believe as long as the beginning of your stay falls within the dates, then your whole stay gets the free dining. I'm only saying this because I saw someone with a vacation stay longer than the dining program and she was able to get the free dining because her first couple of nights fell before the program ended...

Add us to the list....

Me, DH, and 5 kids(ages 3-11) - we must be home before Aug 25 for the start of school. :confused3

It ends on the 4th :sad2:

okay you didn't say what your dates for your trip are???
but if you are staying anytime 8/21 or after you could split trip into two ressies. Like for example if you were there 8/18-8/24
I book 8/18 - 8/20 and pay for my dining & book 8/21 -8/24 and get free dining

I am with you on the not being able to get it free either. My best friend was afraid her son (my godson) might have a year like last year and be sick a lot. We are going during break from 17-22 of Oct. But I have to say, with this deal ending on the 4th, the crowds during our trip might be even smaller.
One consolation to having to pay full price.

But, as long as you check-in BEFORE the 4th, you can get the free dining.

We are checking in on Sept. 30 and will be there until the 7th and we got it for free.

N.E.D.

That's correct. Glad it worked out for you.

We are arriving on the 20th as per original plans booked in Jan with comp Airfair and staying until the 27th. We originally paid 3432.39 for the week in POFQ with Dining and MMY Tickets Park Hoppers.
Now we are staying 1 night at Pop Century Resort the arrival day and no parks are planned anyway and paying for Dinner at Bongos and then in the Morning we are switching over to AKL with a Deluxe Savannah Room and the Free Dining Plan and Disney is crediting back my Credit Card $439.07 :rotfl2: Now that is a deal.
I hope everyone can work out a deal, Good Luck

Your check in day has to be one of the days during the time frame not a check out day.
