We are all obsessed with picking a resort, let's admit it..especially on this board..bringing my then five yr old daughter in December to the World, the week before Xmas...the WL looks beautiful during this time, but my five year old loves the big tacky look of the Pop, and honestly, it would be nice to be able to go to character meals instead of staying at the WL....please tell me she would love it here, I would love to stay here, I have stayed at SOG and CBR, this is her first time, my goal is to visit every resort at least once...please give me advice...will she like it?
Thanks

My daugher is now six. We took her to All star movies and she loves it there. She has even asked to go and stay there again!!

This is after CBR, OKW, SSR, VWL

She also liked the BCV. Figure that one--she had a better time at the value resorts and the SAB pool.

So, I'm bumping here...

I, too, am taking my DD in December for her 5th birthday...I think she wouldn't care if we spent our time at Mickey's in a cardboard box...but, I would love to stay at AKL, WL, or Dolphin/Swan (being selfish there).

Curious to see everyone's feedback.

After staying at the All Star Sports in Sept. 2002, my DS who is now 8 won't let me book anything else. I'm WAS bummed because I wanted to stay at the WL in Sept. but he kept saying "no, Mom, I want to stay at the All Star Sports again"

So, I went online a couple of nights ago and called him into the room to show him pictures of the WL - you could tell he was not impressed UNTIL I got to a picture of the pool slide - then he said "WOW, look at that slide, I want to stay there."

Finally, the pool outweighed the themeing of the All Star Sports - not that it's bad because it's not but I just wanted to stay at a Deluxe since it's been years since I have been able to do that.

My kids have always love the CR due to its proximity to the MK and the monorail.

My Daughters now 21, 19, and 11, have always loved All-Stars. In Sept '01 POR was running a great special and I booked it thinking when will I ever be able to afford this again. They HATED it. Figure it this way the older ones were 17 and 15.They didn't like how big it was and how long it took to walk to the lobby and food area. Plus and this one was the worst thing that could happen. No teenage boys. Gasp!! *sigh, teenagers* 7 yr old didn't care she sticks with me while the others can do their own thing (within reason). After that it was only All-Stars and now Pop. Even now that 2 daughters are old enough and have gone a few times without me they still stay at All-Stars or Pop. We were just there last month. 19 and me. 11 yr old was with her father.

Now even the 11 yr old is that way. We stayed in Sept '04 at Poly GVC and she said can we stay the last 2 nights at All-Stars I want my Mickey Waffle Sundae. Guess I can't complain its the only time they don't want the most expensive thing. LOL

WL! It's like a huge lincoln log house. My girls are 7 & 9 and adored it. The last trip was to the YC and it was great too and we're headed to the GF in April (that's another one I'd recommend for a little girl). These two really go all out decorating for Christmas. There are pictures of both resorts decorations somewhere, think it's on the www.allearsnet.com site in the resorts.

My kids love WL and always can't wait to go back! It's great theming for both kids AND adults, so everyone is happy. My kids also love the waterslide and being able to take the boat to MK as well as being closer to MK. We usually take the monorail quite a bit and visit all of the MK resorts for meals. There's just a lot going on for kids in this area of the "World."

If staying at the WL means no character meals, then choose POP by all means. If you can swing dd, who was 3 loved the WL and called it "the castle."

I've decided the WL will be it!!! I am planning about ten mths in advance, I should be able to do the Cindy's bfast...that is the main character meal I wanted to do... know what??? The first time at WDW should be a GREAT time and I really think that the WL is the best decision for us...well, after Ashley saw the pool, the lobby decorated for Xmas and the HUGE Xmas tree she said...Please mommy, can we stay there??

Glad that she made up my mind for me...also, POP would be awesome for a mid spring trip next year....
Thanks,
Kristen :wizard: :wizard:

We just got back from WL and it is wonderful! My DD6 loved the pool slide! My two kids DD6 DS2 loved the kiddie pool too! It was nice & warm and they played w/ the Nemo tub toys I bought at the Living Seas. The boat ride is sooo nice. I loved not having to fold up the stroller sooo many times, especially when DS fell asleep on the way back. I think the next time we will stay somewhere cheaper...but for our first visit it was a real treat! It was handy with our younger son. If you have any questions please ask!
