If all of you have been following my posts recently, we have gone from a reservation at the CR through the SOG to a room at the Poly to a room at the YC to looking at various (EXPENSIVE!! :)) suites, etc. and we CANT seem to really find where we want to stay for our honeymoon! We want to stay somewhere *special* and not just in another guest room...we cant afford any suites or anything, but really are trying to find that place that is nice, affordable, and perfectly wonderful for honeymooning in. We love the idea of walking to Epcot, though I think staying at any monorail resort will give you fairly easy access to the park...we just cant seem to find THAT place...does anyone have any idea suggestions at ALL?! heheheh I think im going nutso! we havent stayed at a WDW resort before, and Ive been to the CR once to go to Chef Mickey's last Christmas...but other than that, I have pictures and people's word of mouth...and i need help!! thank you so much for helping us..

My best suggestion is to start with where do you expect to spend the majority of your time, and then choose a hotel near there. We spend lots of time and EPCOT so we tend to stay at Boardwalk (we are DVC members) and I prefer to have at least a mini-kitchen so we can have drinks and snacks in the room to save a few dollars. You want to spend as little time as possible travelling and as much time as possible vacationing... Hope that helps?

You don't need a suite to have a great honeymoon! ;)

I would highly recommend the Boardwalk Inn. It is very romantic and intimate. My husband and I stayed there back when we were dating. ;) Actually, he proposed to me on that trip!!! :D I didn't see very many children while we were there, which really made it feel more "adult". Our room was a garden view room with a king bed. We were on the top floor overlooking the rose gardens, quiet pool, and World Showcase. We could see Illuminations every night from our balcony. :D The quiet pool was actually quiet, and a few times we even had it all to ourselves. ;) The location is terrific... walk to Epcot, short boat ride to MGM, and the boardwalk too (of course). ;) At night it almost feels like Pleasure Island... you've got the ESPN Club, Jellyrolls, and Atlantic Dance. ;) I can't think of one negative thing to say about it. Oh, and if you find a good discount code, I've seen rooms go as low as $189/night. :D

I would also recommend a lagoon view room at the Grand Floridian. Believe me, it's not just "another guest room" it's fantastic! ;) The whole resort just feels so luxurious and romantic. :D They have 2 great pools, terrific restaurants, a beautiful lobby, and of course... what could be better than waking up to Cinderella's castle from your balcony??? :D The monorail is so convenient too. :D If you watch for discount codes I've seen rooms go as low as $199/night. ;)

Whatever you decide I'm sure it will be magical! :D

We stayed at YC in June and it was FABULOUS!!!

Being able to walk to Epcot and Boardwalk is just too easy. I really liked the layout and look of the rooms.

Have a great honeymoon!

Hope we all don't confuse you more, but...

Have you considered the new Beach Club Villas? Walking or boat to Epcot & MGM; just walk over bridge to BW activities. They have gorgeous studios with microwave, coffee maker & fridge for relaxed b'fasts on the balcony or cocktails in evening. You could also take a 1 br there-very large total living space compared to a room alone.

You can try for cash discounts there also-or go over to the DVC Boards where you can rent points from a member which may cost less.

Happy planning ;)

Also inquire with SOG as to what the overflow rates are for the place you decide on:D ! Sometimes codes are better, but most of the time SOG has them beat!

I think you would enjoy the YC or BC. We find it very romantic. Love the Epcot resort area. You can stroll around the Boardwalk, rent a bicycle or tandem for two, stroll over to World Showcase. You can take a ride on the Breathless right there at the YC marina. Wonderful restaurants abound in the area. The resorts are beautiful. And, not to mention, Stormalong Bay at your disposal. The best pool in WDW, or anywhere I can imagine.

I also liked the suggestion from another poster of trying the Beach Club Villas. You'd still have access to all the wonderful things I mentioned above plus a nice fresh place to stay.

Wow everyone has been quite helpful. DF is still at work right now :) but when he gets home, we can hash over all of this info this weekend and try to figure out what we can do. I think I do like the Epcot resorts the best too given all the things to do in the area..ohh im so excited! I will definetely update you on what we end up choosing for good. If anyone has anything else to say, though, I am welcoming it all. Thanks again so much!

Just FYI the one bedroom villas have big jacuzzi (sp?) tubs. Why not rent points as others have said. The BCV share Stormalong bay with YC/BC. And sitting on the swings on the beach and watching the fireworks is very intimate and romantic. ;)

You have gotten some great information. One thing that I would like to add is to look at pictures of the resorts, rooms and grounds if you haven't already. This way you get a feel of what they are like.

Here is one site Disney resort pictures
