Hi all,

I went to purchase our passports at the Disney Store today and they told me I needed proof for my 3 year old as well (for residency requirements)....someone on here must have experience with this!!! If so what type of proof did you bring? Would a birth certificate be okay - showing she was born in So. Cal? Help!! I just assumed that since dh and I have valid Driver's Liscences they would naturally know that she lives with us!

Thanks!

My DD is 9-1/2 and I've never shown proof of anything for her. Maybe it's just the store's policy. I don't know of anyone who has had to show proof of residency for a child-what exactly would that be for a 3 y/o? A Birth certificate would only verify birthdate-and since they are photo i.d. they could be used for anyone. Sounds wrong to me. Did you talk to a manager? Or is there a phone number you can call for the Disney store?

We got DD3 a So Cal Pass by showing my wife's driver's license. To be safe, you may want to bring her birth certificate.

Disney Stores tend to know very little when it comes to selling the APs. I'd try to make sure that it's actually been activated, as that has been a problem with Disney Stores!

Thanks - I was able to purchase them without any problem. They just informed me that when we actually go to Disneyland (and exchange them for the actual "photo passport") that we would need proof of residency - even for my 3 year old! I guess I'll have to bring her birth certificate?!? I just hate to carry that around with me in the park....

Bumbershoot: I actually was concerned about activation....maybe I should verify that that too! They are just like gift cards - I wonder if I can even check if they have been activated?

Ok, that is seriously the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Do they not believe your child lives with you? Good grief, you got a real humdinger or a CM there. :sad2:

Did they tell you what kind of proof of residency they required for a 3 year old? It's not like she has school records. I would go back and make sure you talk with a manager. Dang, even DLR doesn't require proof of residency for a child when you buy at the resort.

Oh! I thought they wouldn't sell them to you. Ok, well in that case, the CM at the Disney Store was just wrong. They won't require proof of residency for your 3 year old at the Bank on Main Street. Obviously, you and your dh will have the driver's license which shows that you both live in S. Cal. Does your dd have the same last name as you?

I can't remember the exact problem people were having...I do know they were both coming from one northern CA store that didn't seem to know how to do it....you're probably in better shape b/c it's a so cal store, and therefore closer than, say, San Jose...

Maybe if we keep this bumped up oen of the people who had the problem can post about what they experienced and if there's a way to tell before you get there. I would definitely bring all receipts, just in case there's a problem and the receipts can help.

DangerMouse: Thank You!!! I was hoping that they just didn't have a clue what they were talking about. My DD has the same last name, so it shouldn't be a problem - I hope! We did just move and my DH has our new address on his DL - I have our old address on mine (it doesn't expire until next year), but both are So. Cal. zipcodes, so hopefully it won't be a problem.

Bumbershoot: I purchased it from a San Diego store...so hopefully we're okay. I wonder what problems they had....

Molly, it was Jasmine that had the problem I think.....she and Eric bought their APs in a San Jose store and they weren't activated. OP you shouldn't have a problem, that CM obviously wasn't thinking clearly. lol
