So. Cal school have Oct. FALL break!?

Just had a family/friends that have 2 kids in So. Cal. schools say that last year her kids had a FALL break from like Sept. 27-Oct. 3 or something like that!

YIKES!!!

We're planning to go back the 1st FULL week of Oct. (the 5th-9th) and wondering if anyone out there knows the dates for any So. Cal. schools FALL BREAKS...

We missed theirs by a week last year...wondering if we'll get that lucky this year again?!

I think certain parts do. October can be a busy month because of all the fall breaks around the country. Like Arizona and Utah (but are usually later in the month I think). But also the first week is usually Gay Days. Lots of things go on in the month of October, besides the crowds drawn for the halloween stuff.

I went to a modified year-round elementary school in Irvine over a decade ago that gave us the first two weeks in October off (the school year started the last week in July). It was my family's favorite time to hit DL (we had APs) because it was the least crowded time of the year. I wouldn't be too worried if I were you since most parents use up their vacation time during the spring and summer months and locals never present too much of a problem since they tend to go for a few favorite things and bypass a lot of the activities, though things may be different this year because of the free birthday ticket.

Yeah, the first weekend in October is Gay Days and that brings in a lot of crowds.

It seemed like the whole month of October was super busy last year.

Our school district in AZ has fall break usually the second week of October.

Our school district up in the Bay Area usually has a Fall Break the first two weeks of October. However this year it is the week of Sept 28th and Oct. 5th. It seems a little earlier than usual, but I guess it is because the first week is half Sept and half October. We are going Sept 26th - 30th! And I know many many families in our area go down during this time. We always see lots of familiar faces!

Unfortunately Utah fall break (UEA) is 10/1-10/2 and then our district is out on 10/5 as well. I believe Gay Days are the same weekend. Guess I won't be using my "Free Birthday Day" (10/2) this year. If California and Utah are both out of school and Gay Days on top of it...CRAZY BUSY!

Mid October there is also the CHOC walk, (Oct 18) and the 3-day Columbus day weekend always brings in a large crowd as well.
