Unfortunately, I just got off the phone with Disneyland ticketing and they confirmed that, unlike last year, this year they will be checking ID's for all tickets, not just the purhaser, so all those who use the special tickets must have
and address within those zip codes. Not cool! Very disappointing.

I mean, they are called SoCal RESIDENT passes. It's a perk for people who live in SoCal and a way to get non-AP holders into the parks, not for everyone who happens to know someone who lives in SoCal to get in cheaply.

That's what I was kind of thinking. Six degrees of separation and everyone could know someone who lived in SO Cal. I always interrupted the deal to be for residents.

Does anyone have any current experience? Has anyone tried to purchase these for out of town guests? I know people have called, but Disney has been known to be inconsistent...
