as some of you know i booked to go disney for my birthday at the dlh end of septemeber ...... yesterday was the last day to pay off final bit of deposit... i went online to pay it only becuase of where i work i get cashback ..anyhow put all my card details correctly on disneyland website went through checkout and for some reason it said card declined!!!
now i have just been paid so i know the funds are there..i looked on my online banking and yes its all there..so i tried again..same thing card declined..

so i rang up disney thinking sod this i will just pay over the phone and when i look at my bank £512.10 ( the price of holiday) has gone out my account!!!!

so there me thinking oh it must have paid , disney say nope my money is earmarked??? which apparenlty means i have attempted to pay an amount of money and they have to try take it for it to then bounce back in to my account!!! :confused3

rang up my bank and they said yeah there is something earmarked but they cant do anything about it for up to 5 working days

i told disney look this is not my fault and i dont want to lose holiday as i have just paid £230 for eurostar and all i was told..well we can put it on your notes :sad1:
 
I think this should be ok. Normally when you pay a deposit, Disney then go in and take the balance automatically on the due date. However, almost everyone on here has commented that it is often taken late, then goes out the bank and back in again.

I don't think you'll lose your holiday. I'd leave it a couple of days and then phone them again to make sure everything is ok.

These things always happen over a weekend, don't they :rolleyes:
 
When you pay by debit card it is always put into a holding account which the company your paying claim it from. It does take about 3-5 days to sort itself, even though it will show coming out of your account, it will not clear with Disney as its the weekend. It will probably show Tuesday/ Wednesday
 
So would I be able to pay for our stay with a visa debit card? I thought it only accepted credit cards?
 

I have always used a visa debit card to pay for my holidays. I always book on the phone, though, not online.
 
I have paid by debit card before when I phone but credit card online, however they now started charging for CC use

Thank you, does the hotel and anything extra cost the same or is it a different price if I book over the phone compared on the internet?

Also, how long are you on average on the phone booking it, do you get put on hold alot or is it quite easy and simple?

It costs the same regardless how you book except by phone you pay a deposit rather then the full amount online. I tend to book online though as I go through a cashback site (Topcashback) & get money back through doing this.

Regarding the phone sometimes its quick, sometimes its not
