So, are sodas included, or not?

Obviously, I've never cruised before, or I'd know the answer!

We were told that sodas were included, but on the tip thread I saw something about sodas "not on package". Could you share any info you have on this? Hubby is a big soda drinker, and was happy that sodas were included. If they are only included at certain times or from certain locations it would be helpful to know that. I'd be sad if he spent all of our souvenir money on diet coke!

Also, I read something about bottled water. Is the ship's water drinkable, or do we need to plan to purchase bottled water?

Thanks for your help!

We will also be going on our first cruise, but this is what I have picked up as we plan.

Soda used to be only free at sit down meals. There is now a beverage station that you may get as much soda as you would like (deck 9 I believe). If you would like a soda (or pop where we come from) from the bar or from room service you will be charged for it.

Most people seem to think the water on board is fine, but I will let others jump in who have actually drank it.

There is a free soda area with soda, fruit punch, milk and coffee. It is located on Deck 9 next to the Mickey pool. I think it is 24 hours a day - no problem getting a Diet Coke day or night! As for the water on the ship, I brought a few bottles of water from home, but I did drink the water at dinner when they poured after they sat you. I thought it was fine.

Have fun on your cruise!

The drink station also has a water spigot. We found that water fine. You may want to know that they have little (8 or 12 oz) cups provided by the beverage station. We brought a few sport bottles and filled them for excusions with water. If I were a big pop drinker, I might bring a bigger insulated mug.

Also, the deck 9 drink station is not convienent to all areas of the ship (deck 9, off the aft elevators). If you are staying deck 2 forward, you'll have quite a walk from your cabin.

Hi  We took the Disney Western Cruise a year ago. When you board the cruise ship you may buy a refillable cup(like the ones with lids like coffees come in) for $3?.??. Then all over the ship you may get them filled with soft drinks. I have also heard of people packing their own to bring, because you get a bar fridge in your cabin. Enjoy your trip. Its a dream come true :cloud9: :wave2:

Thanks for the info! Since my mother-in-law is in charge of the reservations, I have no idea where we'll be staying on the Wonder. I did inform hubby of his options and he assures me he'll manage to find his way to the beverage station. I'll add a thermal mug to our packing list to make his life a little easier.

Thanks for the positive, happy thoughts, too!

There used to be a soda package but no more. Drink as much as you like as long as its a Coke product. Water tastes fine.

The water on board is just fine....

And like many others have said...Yes the soda is free...(most of the time)...Meaning if you order a soda at the bar or from room service you are charged..

I didn't feel the soda station was much of an problem with the location...but then again..when we went to our room at night or first thing in the morning...I didn't need to rush out and get a pop...It's located near the Mickey pool...and found it very convenient when sitting around the pool with the kids. Oh...and all the pop/soda at dinner...is FREE also...so drink up.

Just want to make it clear that used to be the policy. There is no longer a program for unlimited soda. Since they've opened the soda station on Deck 9, and provided soda in Topsiders/BBB, they've discontinued the soda mugs. I believe you can still buy souvenier mugs in the ships' stores, but they are just souveniers.

Our last trip, we were on deck 2, midship, and I still used the soda station quite a bit. Yep, I'm cheap! In my mind, there's no reason to pay $ when I can certainly use the exercise of climbing the stairs!

The soda station includes: coke products (reg coke, diet coke, sprite, diet sprite, Mr. Pibb (I think), iced tea (I think it was Nestea), I think there was a caffeine free version of coke too, lemonade, fruit punch and water.

There are also coffee urns there, and hot water with packets of regular and herbal tea, and hot chocolate packets. Sweetner is provided (but not splenda). There is also milk available.

Thanks for all of the great info!
