Hi all

I'm relatively new to these forums, but have been reading them for a while.

You all seem like really great people and this place is just getting me even more excited about my forthcoming holiday!

I was wondering if anyone here was trying to lose weight at all, either for your holiday or just generally. I've been doing WW since Jan 2003 and have lost about 5stone to date. I hope to lose at least another 2stone before Florida and it would be great if we could all spur each other on!

I won't be at goal weight when I travel (I have another 6st to lose to get there!), but it is going to be fantastic not to have to worry about fitting in the plane seat and being able to walk aroud all day without feeling like collapsing after an hour!

Be good to hear from you!

Hi,

Have you checked out the W.I.S.H boards?

There are a few dieters over there and some great tips and hints.

(I've lost about 11lb since Christmas so far :) )

Ooh, thanks Bonzo, I shall check it out!

I have had a look at some of the other boards but i've been sticking to the UK ones, they are less overwhelming!!

Well done on your loss btw :)

Hi,

I am dieting at the moment and have about a stone to lose, I'm having a bet with my sister in law that I can lose the most in 6 weeks! We are betting our gym fees and a nice new handbag ! So I hope I win!

Hi, well done to everyone who has lost weight. I have been dieting on and off for about 2 years now. I tend to loose weight for a specific occasion i.e. holiday then find it hard to get motivated upon return. I am dieting again now and an determined to stick to get to goal weight. I am however 3 1/2 stone lighter than when I origionally started but am about a stone heavier than in the summer! I have about 1 stone 10 to loose before I reach goal though!!
Good luck everyone

Hello Angelore

I too am trying to lose weight - in fact I have been all my adult life.
A classic yo yo dieter. Currently four stone overweight.

Just like Shellbell I start with good intentions on Monday morning but it seldom lasts past Tuesday. I have all the knowledge I need to lose weight - its just the willpower that's lacking.

HELP!!!!

I joined Weight Watchers 7 weeks ago and have lost 17 pounds so far, I do have around another 4 stone to go though, so getting there slowly.

Although not loosing weight specifically for the holiday, the thought of running around the parks in my shorts and a vest top is giving me a big incentive :)

Back on it now and trying to stick to it:) Well done on all your loses. I feel the same as Kaylee I always seem to be on a diet:Pinkbounc

I may take you up on that Mary, got to work those blooming onions, T-bone steaks and chocolate brownies off somehow ;)

I joined WW in Oct 2002. I turned 40 in May 2003 and was determined I wasn’t going to be ‘fat’ and 40. By my 40 birthday I had lost 2 stone. By Oct 2003 I had lost 2.5 stone. Since then I’ve been on maintenance and my weight has remained pretty constant give or take a lb here or there. I work it by being good and sticking to around 20 points Mon to Thur and then eating and drinking what I like over the weekend, this way I don’t feel like I’m constantly dieting or deprived. I also go to the gym about 4 times a week which I find really helps.

You have done fantastic with your weight loss and must already notice a huge difference. I know it gets tough sometimes but stick with it because the feeling when you reach goal is great.

hi annmarie:wave:
well done to you as well::yes:: i'm on 24 points a day, and i must add that when you say you have so many points mon to thur and then eat what you want weekends is a great idea and i'm going to try that because i'm starting to get very fed up constantly saying to myself i can't have this and must not eat that
thanks for that little tip

Well done Angellore and everyone else that has lost weight.

I am also with WW and have lost 4 stone - I still have another 3 to go and have found I seem to be stuck in a rut at the moment. I was going great loosing every week - I even managed to only put on 1.5lbs over 3 weeks in Orlando :hyper: which I was delighted about.

Since we got back I seem to have lost memento am stuck in a rut - I am sure it is all psychological..... ;)

The good news is that I have started loosing again and only have 5lbs to go to get under 13st - hopefully once that has happened it will spur me on again.

::yes::

Paul and I are on a diet ready for our holls this year .We started on January 5th and so far I have lost 15lbs and Paul has lost 14lbs. We both have about 8lbs to go but it is sticking now and getting to be hard work and food times are no longer fun!!!! It has been lovely to see progress although expensive to keep changing my wardrobe however just need a spurt to lose the last bit. Then the hard part trying to keep the weight off!!!!!!!!!
