This is our first trip to WDW (myself, DD 14 and DS 15). We are so excited. I've been buying things for this trip for months (clothes, shoes, toiletries, etc), I've been reading the DIS board several times per day since I discovered it a couple of weeks ago, I've all but memorized the Unofficial Guide to Disney World, I've called Disney Dining to check/change ADRs so many times I'm afraid they are going to ask me to stop calling (lol), I've searched for and scrutinized every menu, hotel picture, park picture, etc I can get my hands on, reconfirmed our flights a dozen times......I'm telling ya, it goes on and on.

Anyone else or is there something really wrong with me? :mickeyjum

I totally understand!
I used to be the exact same way but after many, many trips I don't spend nearly as much time planning anymore. I used to be EXACTLY like you, though :thumbsup2 I would read and re-read the Unofficial Guide and just research and research!
It helps you in that it prepares you for your trip and hopefully will familiarize you with a lot of "ins and outs", but really it's just a way to pass the time and feed that addiction ;)
You are going to have a GREAT time :cool1:
Where are you staying?
Have you been reading a lot of trip reports?

My #1 tip is to try and think realistically about how much time things can take, whether it is getting to a restaurant or a park from your hotel, to how long it might take to travel around World Showcase or just stop and smell the roses! :flower3: Try and build in down time for everything so that you won't be exhausted and stressed out.
On the other hand, some people thrive on that at Disney - (go, go, go-ing in the parks all day and night!), so I understand that too
Have fun!!

Thank you so much for the advice and encouragment! We are staying at the All Star Music resort. The teens and I decided we would rather spend more on souveniers and things than the hotel room...which as my dad says, all look the same when your eyes are closed, lol.

I love the post trip reports. I've spent many hours reading them. This is a GREAT board!

Ha ha! Yes, your dad has a point there ;)

All Star Music will be fun for your first trip :wizard:

Yes, these boards are pretty great! It's aa amazing resource.

I'm going to send you a private message...

Going to SW Airlines website is about making me completely insane.. I enjoy the rest of it though! We have been to AS Movies three times and I still look at the pictures for it before every trip there!:goodvibes

I don't make myself insane -- but I think I make DH insane! :lmao:

I totally enjoy planning the trip. About 3 min. after I got off the phone with reservations, my Disney calendar was out & ready to figure out which park to go to & where to make ADR's!! I've kinda slowed down, but I still have a few months before we leave. I do need to make the last of my ADR's, -- very soon!

I had a good giggle reading this...I have been asked are you not Disneyed out yet!!!Nope and we leave in December!I still have ADRs to make, etc etc.Hubby is like well when you have those booked can you let it go for a bit!umm nope lol :confused3 I don't get why no one else is excited as I am!

I think my DH privately thinks I'm nuts. Little does he know he is subconsciously feeding my addictionpluto: . Once we have decided on the date, I immediately start charting when park hours were in the past...which parks were open late or early, then I plan my ADR's according to a chart :surfweb: I made that shows which meals cost what and then decide which ones are more beneficial to use the dining plan for. Think that is bad.....

Now comes the daily planning. I can tell you roughly which park, and attraction we will be at usually within a 1/2 hour time span.

One time DH thought we should just "wing it" at the park. :rolleyes1 We ended up kind of just walking aimlessly around trying to decide what to do. Wasted time!:hourglass

Don't get me wrong, we do stray from our plans somewhat but only if everyone agrees.
