So all i get now is 3 or have I lost it??

As Annual Passholders and a son diagnosed with autism we are suffering through the changes too. I am not saying it is not doable - we rarely stay onsite, we never manage to spend a full day at any park and often go for about four hours and leave (five if we eat there). CURRENTLY we feel having APs is not beneficial in comparison to those staying onsite, no magic bands, no FP+ preordering - it seems Annual Passholders just don't factor much into their priorities right now - I know they have spoken of rolling out these services but it may come too late for this family. Our APs expire in April and after the understandable reasons for changing the GAC to DAB we are working twice as hard at any park to ride perhaps one or two that my son can manage while trying to accommodate my daredevil daughter. The next couple of months we are squeezing out as much as we can from our passes but I dislike the lack of spontaniety that worked so well for us before and made us consider spending that chunk of money on passes for the sheer easiness and joy we experienced albeit in sporadic amounts.
When we go next, it will now only be at rope drop, using our FP+ selections for DDs two choices and one for DS extra choice ( when you ride maybe one ride only in a park and in comparison with this time last year it is hard for him to understand) while using his DAB. By lunchtime we would be gone anyway so doesn't sound like much of a sacrifice but I will MISS the after dinner nip over to the park (well just over an hour away) to do a few rides and MAYBE watch fireworks if DS can handle it. Do you think they will have FP+ available at 6pm for rides in the park still - especially BTMRR? Has anyone experienced this yet?
I know it will likely get better in many ways, change is hard and we know it all too well. It seems like swimming upstream and I personally am tuckered out on a daily basis without fighting the system at Disney for 'fun'.
Still love Disney just working through it til April!

 Just wanted to say that our family make-up is similar (I am tuckered out on a daily basis without fighting the system for fun, as well) and we have encountered these same challenges/dissatisfaction with the changes at WDW. A switch to vacationing at Universal is appealing to everyone in my family, except for our differently-abled child who is very Disney-movie enchanted and does not like thrill rides/coasters.

We are concerned DVC owners also. We don't have a trip planned this summer (thank God given what I've been reading about the technical mishaps) but we will go next summer and at that point reevaluate our membership. I'm not thrilled at all with the tiering and the three fast pass limit. If this stays then I don't think we will keep vacationing here. I think there may be a lot of DVC owners selling with this change and expect prices to drop.

i don't mind that you only get three in a park in a day, but....i wish if you paid for parkhopper you got at least one or two for a second park...or even let you split up your original three. It takes the appeal of the parkhopper option way down, in my opinion. We might re-think paying extra for parkhopper in the future if this policy stays as-is.
agree!

We go to Disney every year and would usually go to Universal every other year. That said, the last few years our trips to Disney have shortened in length and we now tend to stay longer at Universal going every year. Most of this is due to the outrageous cost of park tickets at Disney and the fact that Universal utilizes Express Pass for their resort guests. Best perk ever. It makes life at the parks enjoyable and much less stressed, as it should be. Limiting the amount of fast passes at Disney is ridiculous as is this new magic band system. It's just Disney trying to control and limit our experience while making more money.

We may skip the onsite trip to Disney this summer altogether in favor of staying at Universal which is starting to offer more perks and entertainment for less money. I am a Universal annual pass holder (have been for 5 years) and I feel that I am most certainly getting more than my money's worth with Universal. Wish I could say the same for Disney. I am becoming a total convert to the "Dark Side." :cool2:

Us too..Our last 2 trips we didnt set foot on Disney property..Likely wont the next visit in the fall either

Ok please forgive me here....with the new FP system all you can get is 3 per day correct?? If you are on site you can book in advance, if you are offsite you can book at the park upon entrance, is that also correct? But 3 is all max????? Please someone tell me I am mis informed about this.....because if true I am a little miffed......

As others have pointed out, it is actually even worse than what you have described. Max of three, tier limits in some parks, and cannot split your 3 between parks.

Especially since everyone is so different when it comes to comfort level and families with different sized and aged children. Personally, I don't like that Disney has now decided to dictate that one can only have 3 passes but...I like it even less that you cannot have 2 for the same ride. Fine if Disney wants to limit us to 3, their perogative to do so, but to control how to use my 3 FP's I don't agree with at all. My money, my ticket = my choice.

But allowing you to go on that ride twice would mean someone else doesn't get to ride. That wouldn't be fair.

Yes, 3 rides are all you are rationed.

First thing we've ever agreed on. Too bad you were being sarcastic. ;)
