Hi all:

We are doing the Western cruise on July 17 and would really like to do a SNUBA (note the "N" - not scuba) excursion. Disney doesn't offer them, but there are private companies at all the ports that do.

Has anyone done SNUBA in Key West, Grand Cayman, or Cozumel? If so, could you tell us who you went with, how much it cost, and how satisfied were you?

Cheers,

Pirate

I know in Cozumel it is offered.

I've done SNUBA about 4 or 5 times growing up. My Grand parents lived in Crystal River, Fl and I used the equipment at the springs.

With Snuba, you can only decend about 30 feet or so before running out of air line. You would only be dissapointed if you wanted to go deeper, but there are serious safety issues with additional depth.

If you are not an accomplished snorkeler, it's the next best thing to tank diving. With SNUBA, you dont have to surface.

I think the marine life in Coz or GC (if there is an operator there) would make the experience worth it.

Thanks GenieDana!

We have done SNUBA before (Disney Cruise to St. Thomas) and DH and I are certified divers. We want to do SNUBA, though, because DS (now 13) wants to try it so that he can decide whether or not he's ready for the real thing.

SNUBA's a great introduction to scuba without the safety concerns.

Cheers,

Pirate
