I haven't heard anybody talk about this, but after these 2 storms if a rain storm follows close behind wouldn't these two cities and riverry areas near by be in a heep of trouble?

I'd think so. Lots of those drains have to be closed. I still remember lots of flooding happening around here when the blizzard of '96 melted rapidly.

Not sure about how it would work in DC, but it wouldn't even have to rain in Philly for them to be in trouble. A heavy rain in upriver (northern PA/NJ, NY) could make for a real mess downstream in Trenton & Philadelphia.

Im planning to build an ark out of the snow on my deck...

Tina - you need to consider shoveling some of the snow off of your deck, if you haven't already. You don't want it to collapse under the weight of the snow. I am sure you have heard about all the buildings in the DC area that have had their roofs collapse already -- and now we are expecting more snow.

I have shoveled some of the snow off my deck and away from my back door. I didn't really have anywhere to put it. Luckily I don't have a high up deck but just a ground leve deck if that makes sense.

A bit of advife for you with an unusual amount of snow for your area.
If you getany water in your basement. Shove it away from you house now. It will save you giant headacghe in the future.
