It started about 6.am. and has been snowing heavily ever since. We have about 5 inches right now - almost a blizzard for us. It is absolutely beautiful and I am enjoying a day in the house watching birds at my feeder. The fire is going and it is very cozy.

Nearly no cars on the roads out here - I live in the "country". It is quiet.

I was supposed to go with DS for eye exam - they closed. Two of my dear dogs were supposed to go get groomed - they closed. I am supposed to get paid today at 3 p.m. Don't know about that. The bank is open right now, but they may close. I was supposed to make our final house payment today, but who knows? So, I just finished organizing a kitchen cabinet.

It's the South and it is snowing - like crazy. Pretty soon the whole town will be shut down - I know you Northerners laugh at us for closing up shop and going home. But I'm enjoying it and it is like everything just comes to a stop - today I have not even had the t.v. on - just enjoying the beauty and the quietness. Pretty soon I am going to pull out a banket and a good book.

Anybody else getting a Southern blizzard????

I hear it's coming our way. The grocery store was packed at 8:00. Everyone was getting bread and milk. Why? Do you really think you'll need bread and milk during a snow storm? LOL

One of DH's coworkers and his fiance were supposed to head out this morning to come see some of SC before going to Atlanta for a conference.

Needless to say, they haven't left.

Yup...it's over top of us now...we're projected to get between 5 and 10 inches  This year has been crappy for winter weather. And yes....we close down as well. Our Philadelphia staff members laugh at how fast we head home. I'm ready for SPRING!

I used to wonder about bread and milk myself - but it is just so versatile - so many things you can make using bread and milk and most of them you can do without actually having to cook.

It's still snowing!!!! And National Weather Service has extended the storm warning into Friday!!

We have about 2-3 inches. It has stopped for now, but I think there is more forecasted for later. I don't like bad weather, but at least it's just snow. That's infinitely better than ice.

Please be safe.
And please keep it there;)

Today is bright and sunny but only 30 degrees here. I so want spring to come.

Sorry you are having winter.

They cancelled college at 11am today. I'm in Rock Hill and the second wind just started. 5inches and counting. It is gorgeous though, nice than the ice storm a month ago! If anybody's getting bored catch me online, I'm cooped up in the apartment.

Snow in the Carolina's?!?!, hope everyone remains safe. That is just weird for such snow to be hitting down there, I've never heard of more than 2 or 3 inches in the south.

I live in New York so I have way too much experience with snow storms and blizzards than I would really like. This reminds me of a few years ago in March when we got 24 inches in 6 hours, ugh! terrible. We've had over 100 inches so far this season but this week has been beautiful and this weekend is supposed to be in the upper 50's so hopefully all this icky snow will melt. Sorry to rub it in, kinda! lol

Seriously though, be safe!

We've had 11-12 " of snow. It is rare but it can happen. It has also snowed on my birthday in April.

Guess that depends on what areas of the states you are thinking about. Charlotte doesn't usually get that much, but the mountains can be a different story. The strange thing this year is that Charlotte and Raleigh have had more snow than we have.

Today's snow is the most we've gotten in a while.

I don't understand why people rush out to buy bread and milk. Why don't they get something to go in between the bread and to go with the milk? That's what I don't understand.

Be careful , guys. One of the processing facilities of my firm, located in Charlotte, shut down.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...I guess I'll definitely be waiting for SUMMER to move since I have to drive through all those states up to VA!

Bundle up, stay off the roads, and have fun. Sometimes a snow storm can be fun. That is if all your loved one's are home and you have no place you have to be!!!!

I on the other hand, will be happy if I don't see another flake for quite awhile!!! I got to go outside w/o my winter jacket today to get the mail, and I didn't freeze!!!

I feel so bad for one of my co-workers! She is leaving in the am for Hilton Head for a week. She thought she'd be going to a warmer climate. Well, we have a weather forecast of sunshine and high 50's for this weekend. This has been one strange winter, weatherwise!
