Snowglobes on the plane...

First, I want to apologize if this has been asked before.

My one souvenier that I always get is a snowglobe. I noticed that they are not allowed as a carryon. If I was to check it in with my luggage will it be okay? I just want to ask anyone if they've brought back snowglobes in their check luggage and if their have been any problems.

I've never packed a snowglobe in my luggage, but if you are concerned about it, you can have Disney ship it to your house. There's a charge for shipping, of course, but at least you know it wouldn't be tossed around in your checked bags.

We brought a small one back and it was fine. I don't think I would try to bring back a larger one. Just ship it for peace of mind....and to save whatever you may have in your luggage from getting "snowed on!"

Dd has a collection of snowglobes so we will definitely be buying some on our trip. I plan on having Disney ship it back home. That way if it is damaged in shipping, they will replace it. I wouldn't want to get home and find it destroyed in the suitcase.

my parents brought home 3 snowglobes last year from disney when my dad went on a business trip. they were really worried about having them in the luggage, but they were all fine. i don't think i would have taken the chance, but i'm more of a worrier than most.

We bought an lovely one on main street with Cinderellas Castle and the store shipped it home for us. It took a little while to get to us but it was worth the piece of mind. Some of the more elaborate ones are pretty delicate.. I could definitely see pieces breaking off. I'd ship

I bought one in December and I was told I couldn't bring it on the plane by they store. It was in the original box and it was fine once we got home. Just pack it between clothes and make sure it will be wrapped well. Or send it home...

I agree with the other's who've said have Disney ship it, it's well worth it, I always ship our Christmas ornaments back. I have had a couple break and they have replaced them without an issue.

It's worth the peace of mind that if it arrives damaged it will be replaced.
