Hey Kim!! yes...you need to slow those plans down!! Ha!! I did seem to go a lot faster when they were smaller, kinda stupid now that I think about it!! LOL! But, you never know when it'll be the last WDW trip and you reeeeally want to get it all in!! Adding an extra day on each end made it a totally diff experience for us...if we were still doing 7 days I would pick up the pace A LOT!! But, getting in that day is a relaxer now...and the last day, we just walk around whatever park our resort is closest too, and take pics and eat one more meal....that really lets us have some down time before we come home. Now we don't get back and feel totally exhausted like we used to!
Mindy!!! How are you!!!!! So, you are def doing Nov of '11 right? I am excited for you!! Your little bitty man will really enjoy it then!!! I miss mine being so little and getting to see it all with such wonder and excitement!! They still love it, but it's sad for mommy!!!!
It was soooo awesome to wake up to our cool morning!!! High 50s!!!!! October is my favorite month!!! Well...I adore April also, but Oct is such a relief!!!!

there's a rumor about military salute tickets too! that would cut our ticket cost in half! The cost was kind of getting to me. Our trip that we had scheduled for last December was going to be about half the price of what I'm figuring for November, because it was Value season, we were staying in a Value hotel and I could have still used my AP.
I'm still not sure about the dates though, because we're planning Gideon's blessing (kind of like baptism or dedication at our church) for the first weekend in November, which means we either need to be back by then or leave after.
We might be able to do it in October...but I don't know...as soon as he leaves this area, he has to start taking leave, so my plan was to wait until November to start that. He does have quite a bit of leave accumulated...

We are going in November, 2011. Package is booked! I can't wait to see how Chase reacts. I need to get some new pics for you all to see.

Well, I never ended up getting my haircut! Maybe one night this week I'll squeeze it in. The mall took us longer than we planned. I ended up in a TMobile store somehow and upgraded my phone for the first time in 6 years.:woohoo: The sales guy laughed when I pulled out my dinosaur flip phone with an antenna to upgrade. :lmao:

We had a fabulous date night!!! Dinner was scrumptious and I got some sort of tropical drink that reminded me of CBR. :cloud9: Oh how I miss Disney so.

The Lego store was terribly crowded. We built some blocks to add to the R2D2 and took a quick peek. We'll definitely go back when it's not as new and a little less crowded. The line wrapped around the side of the side of the store and it was about an hour wait to get in! I took a few pics...

Oh and for those of you that think my kids are little clones of Jason and I :lmao:

Here's me at 3 and here's Em. Add some bangs to her and there's not much of a difference.

I have to dig one out of Jason when he was a kid. There are very few of them since he's the youngest of 4 kids. :sad2:

Shawna - your plans sound great! Your vacays always sound sooo nice and relaxing! :) I am such a commando - I really want to try and make our next WDW vacay slower paced! ;)

Becca - Congrats! Gideon is going to Disney for the first time!!!!!

Sarah - Crossing fingers you get that plate out! Glad to hear that your friend's little one is still doing well- surgery so young, how scary for his parents!

Mindy- It's getting chilly here too! I'm glad you pop in when you can- no need to worry about keeping up with us chatterboxes. Updated pics of your boys please!

Hope all my Snowbirdie friends are having a great Monday!

Whats the rumor about the military tickets......share!!!!!

Kim...first thing I noticed was that your kids had on a long-sleeve/&Jacket!!!! ha!! we were in the pool a few days ago!!! CRAZY!! And yes, little Em is her mamma!!!!!!

It's definitely not pool weather here. Brrrrr! It's been in the low 50s and rainy.

My Disney piggy bank is starting to grow! I'm So happy I could scream. Matt said he would pay for half ;). Didn't bother telling him that I booked Theme Park View at the Poly LOL.

Is it true that Le Cellier is going to be a 2TS restaurant ?

yay for you!!! You will love the Theme Park view...and just FYI..might not matter to you, but the Theme Park View at the CR is a weensy bit cheaper!!! We stayed there last time and just hoofed it over to MK in the mornings! it was wwooooooonderful!!! I am not into contemporary design per se...but I did love our room...If you have your heart set on the Poly, that's great-just didn't know if you knew that...and maybe you will get a 40% off pin or they will offer a discount again!!!:yay:

Basically ...
4 Day PH OR WPM for $139
Both PH and WPM for $169
It's kind of a bummer that they're only 4 day tickets again, but it will work fairly well for us since we won't plan too much park time with the baby anyways. It would be nice to have a day when we can't go to the parks.

Cheshire Figment is skeptical and there's nothing up on Mousesavers yet, so I'm not counting any chickens...
No orders yet either...so I can't really plan anything at the moment.

Currently 72 and sunny here in WI :cloud9:. Not too many of these days left...so I'm sitting outside with laptop. Did all my running this morning so I can sit in the sunshine - gotta get my Vitamin D!

Hope all is well with everyone!

Popping in! Hope everyone is well!

No swimming here- it's been cool and either cloudy or raining all week. No rain for this weekend at least when we go camping! :woohoo:

Shhhhhhhh! Can you keep a secret?

I found a new way to add to my Disney stash. See, I've been putting money aside but keep finding myself dipping into it. So while I was at the grocery store I noticed that they sell Disney gift cards. Hmmmm. :stir: I can buy one each week with my stash and no one is the wiser. Can't spend Disney gift cards on pizza LOL. Just don't tell DH about my devious Disney savings plan :rotfl:

Hi All! I've been keeping up with my DIS reading :surfweb: but haven't been posting much. Some of you are getting SO CLOSE to your trips! :cool1: Meghan, have you started your TR yet? popcorn::

Becca, I've been reading the military deal speculation threads also. Hope something good comes up, and SOON so you can use it!

Kim, I love your Disney Savings Plan! :teacher: Those cards will add up!

Shawna, I wanted to give you a big THANK YOU...a looong time ago (maybe on Sheree's PTR??) you recommended the Mitford books by Jan Karon and I started reading them. I finally finished the last one and wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed them. Thank you for the wonderful suggestion. :thanks: Got any more for me? :)

DS12 is having "spirit week" at school this week, and each day there is a different theme to dress up for. Today each grade (7-12) has an animated TV series and the 7th graders got "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse". So DS went to school wearing a black t-shirt, big red shorts (DH's swim trunks :upsidedow) over black tights (mine!), and his plain black Mouse ears from our last trip to WDW. ::MickeyMo He looked great! And I felt secretly pleased that he's not "too cool" to dress up as Mickey Mouse. :thumbsup2 We also have a pair of big white Mickey hand gloves that he wanted to wear...but we could only find one of them! We turned the house upside down and the other one was no where to be found. :sad2: It will probably turn up when we move...or maybe next week.

The boys have off school the first week of November, and I'm supposed to be planning a trip somewhere. Last year during that week we took the western Mediterranean cruise, and that was great! We'd love to do another cruise (thinking eastern Med/Greece), but the prices are just not cooperating. :headache: So we're looking at going to Croatia and Slovenia...but even then we're looking at ~$1000 for transportation, ~$1000 for hotels, plus eating and sightseeing :teacher: ...and it's more expensive than our last trip to WDW! And I'm sure it's lovely (we've been to Slovenia and enjoyed it very much; haven't ever been to Croatia), but still...I can't stop myself from comparing it value-wise to a WDW trip! Does anyone else have this problem when they try to plan a vacation to anywhere else?

We are finally supposed to get some sunshine today. :wizard: I sure hope we do, it has been dark and rainy for the past week and a half.

Great plan Kim! :thumbsup2 I paid for this entire trip with WDW gift cards I bought at our grocery store. And earned free gas in the process! :goodvibes

Spirit week sounds very fun!! :cool1:

Yes, I absolutely do that when planning trips to anywhere else. Disney is expensive, but when you actually sit down and compare it to other places, it's really not such a bad deal. And anytime we go anywhere else I always come home feeling like we should have saved that money for Disney. :upsidedow

Kathy! I do it too!! I think most of us here will agree--it's just hard to beat the Disney $ value...they aren't dummies!! They know what they are doing!! Yes, it can get costly, but compared to other places....there is no comparison!! I bet your son looked awesome today!!! That is a great idea!!!!
Did the water spill contaminate any of the water where you are? I need to get out my map and see!! I am a little fuzzy on that area!! That's not where we are in Geog this year!!:rotfl: I know when the oil spill hit the Gulf here,...it impacted lots of the states just because of the Fish/Shrimp issues.
As far as books...I just last week finished rereading the Mitford series!!!! How weird!!! Aren't they awesome!!! She is soooo great....and do you not feel like you know them all? Poor Ole Uncle Billy....and I love Dooley, wish I looked like Olivia Harper and had Puny's energy! Or at least a clone of her to clean for me!!! LOL
Lets see...have you found any by Francine Rivers yet? Girl....find her!!!! Start with Redeeming Love...I promise you will love it!!! any of her books are great...I haven't read the new one-the library doesn't have it yet, and I was waiting for paperback. Or Nancy Moser..she does a series of Historical Fiction that is magnificent: Martha Washington, Jane Austen, Nannerl Mozart....really great. I will be thinking of anymore you might enjoy...but thats my top 3:Rivers,Moser, and Karon. Oh...did you find the kids stories by Jan Karon? Jeremy Bunny and the Trellis and the Seed, and Miss Fannies Hat.Loved 'em!:thumbsup2

I too have a hard time planning a trip to anywhere else other than Disney!!

We are currently starting to think about our "March Break". Ken has oodles of vacay time, the girls will have a week off school and we JUST might have a little bit of $$ saved up by then. Most definitely not enough to do Disney but enough to go somewhere.

We are giving serious thought to the Great Wolf Lodge in Wisconsin Dells. It is about 8-9 hours away and it looks like a lot of fun! Might be worth checking out. On the other hand I am VERY tempted to say "Let's just chuck it all and go to Disney!!" :lmao: The kids are only young once, right?? ;)

Well see what happens.....:confused3 popcorn::

Yay for one month Shelly!!
Kim - way to go on the secret Disney savings plan!
Pluto - of course, we compare every trip to what it would cost to go to Disney!!! Even our Europe trip (yes we still plan to go despite travel warnings!) DH is comparing.

Kim (NDG) - We stayed at the Great Wolf in Williamsburg VA and LOVED it! Lots of fun. The Dells are fun - big waterparks everywere! It would be a nice winter getaway with all the indoor water activities. I know a bunch of people around here who do that for spring break.

We are enjoying ridiculously nice weather too. I am hating being in the office this week!!! Need to get out at lunchtime and soak up some Vitamin D!

I have a hard time even spending the money on a single night in a hotel somewhere. Logan mentioned going to St. Louis or the Lake of the Ozarks last weekend for just a night, but I couldn't convince myself to spend the money. To me, its one less night we can spend at Disney. He made the same suggestion for this weekend (he has an extra day off) but I'm still not convinced. Instead, we might be going to my parents' because apparently my brother is going to be in town. We both miss him, because we all bonded quite a bit living in Manhattan together. I was actually a little shocked when Logan suggested it, because he usually doesn't like going to my parents'. He doesn't find that there's a lot for him to do, and he gets uncomfortable when I go places with my Mom. Him and Brian are really good friends though, so he can hang out with him when I'm not around.

Kim - I might have to steal your idea for while Logan's in Korea. Then, when he gets back, he won't be able to say we don't have the money for a trip to Disney, because it will be "ear"marked. I was considering just siphoning off money into my personal bank account that I haven't closed yet, but we could still use that money for something else.
