Hey Shawna, I also found you on Facebook...it was a good night!!

How is everyone doing????

Anyone been to Pizzafari at AK?

How about ABC Commissary at DHS?

I'm just going over my November schedule. . . I have all my ADR's nailed down but I am looking at my CS places.

Here are the TS ADR's I am shooting for on my 90 day mark~

Sci-Fi Dine-In
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Big River Grille
Boatwrights
Kona Cafe
Le Cellier
Turf Club
Crystal Palace

Anyone been to Boatwrights? We normally don't dine at the moderate TS restaurants, but I thought we'd have a relaxing evening at the resort and not have to run anywhere for dinner. But Boatwrights is one of those places that you just don't hear much about. . . :confused3

YAY! I was hoping people would start talking food...
Pizzafari is fine, nothing special, nothing horrible. We tried Flame Tree last year and I didn't think it was anything special, except for the onion rings, and I had to pay OOP for them! I think we'll try the picnic in the park next trip.

I hope you guys LOVE WCC. We've done it twice and it's definately on our "must do" list now. We have had excellent service, we love the brisket, chicken and pulled pork, and the corn that's dripping in butter! And the desserts and smoothies are divine! My kids are a little bashful so won't get into some of the "antics" but they love watching and delivering the ketchup. Make sure you ask as soon as you check in about a table in the Main Dining Room. Otherwise it's not near as much fun.

After your reviews, we're going to try BRGrille next trip, so if I hate it, I'll blame you Shelly! :rotfl: Although I may have to switch it to try the new Cat Cora restaurant...can't wait for reviews on that one!

I heard that Kouzzina by Cat Cora is actually having a soft opening on August 15th, with the official opening on September 17th. I'm kind of relieved, since I made reservations for September 19th. My friend and I had all sorts of possible things that could go wrong opening weekend running through our heads!

It doesn't sound TOO different from Spoodles, which did have good food. But then, I tend to love that sort of cuisine anyway! :)

Being so close to my ADR window I am thinking about Disney food all the time lately!!

I am pretty sure we are going to try Pizzafari at AK. Still not sure about a CS place at DHS. . .

We had a WCC ADR one year and ended up cancelling it thinking it might be too stupid! I want to try it this time mainly because I want to check out the WL for a future stay. Hopefully the food will be good and the kids will have fun. My kids certainly aren't shy, so they should enjoy it!

:scared1: I sure hope you like BRG!! Please don't hate me forever if you don't like it! :rotfl: We really did enjoy it a lot. The food and service was excellent and we really love the atmosphere of the Boardwalk.

OOH....knowing I will be at Disney in less than 2 months really has me thinking about meals too...I'm doing WCC this time and I can't wait to try the skillet and get a shake there LOL!!!!

I'm also doing a few old favorites and trying some new restaurants that I'm really looking forward too...like the tea at the Garden Lounge and California Grill!!

I'm thinking about Disney food all the time and I don't even have a trip planned.

I started thinking about where we would eat if we did Deluxe Dining. I would only consider Deluxe Dining if we drive down though, because I wouldn't want to deal with Disney transport for that many meals.

I already know where we'll eat if we go at all. I'm considering making ADRs when the 90 day window opens up, even if we haven't finalized plans. That way if we do decide to go, we'll have ADRs.

I'm planning on:
Hoopdeedoo Revue (the show for me, the food for Logan) that one requires payment in full though, so maybe I shouldn't make an ADR for it in advance?
Ohana - we've gone for breakfast, but not dinner
Le Cellier for dinner - it was our favorite from our honeymoon
Then for the last TS credit I was thinking about doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package, but I haven't decided on that yet. (a credit card guarantee)

I really think we'll probably be able to go, but Logan isn't so sure. I suppose we still have a whole month before ADRs open up anyways.

Becca, the HDDR is good... my kids loved it! The food and the show!!! Go ahead and book it, I think you have time to cancel before hand with a full refund.

Yeah... we would just have to cancel within 48 hours. Obviously, if it's 48 hours before the show and we're not at Disney yet, then I'm guessing we won't be getting there. It's the same thing with the Fantasmic dinner package, but I'm not really sure about that one. I might decide that I like something else better, but I want to try somewhere new, and we haven't been to any of the places with the package.

I really think the show will be wonderful, and while Logan tends to balk at singing and dancing, if I don't tell him that's what it is, then he'll be ok with it because of the food, if he doesn't actually really like it.

My DH has a huge crush on her. I didn't know it, until I told him about her restaurant. Normally when I tell him about Disney news he doesn't listen. As soon as he heard her name he perked up. He wants to eat there whether it's on the DDP or not. Make sure to let us know what you think about it when you get back.

We're not going until November 2010, and I am still thinking about Disney food all the time. We have 471 days until our trip and 381 until I can make ADR's (which thankfully is on a Sunday so I don't have to worry about the boys being late for band camp or school.) As soon as I can get Excell back on this laptop, I am going to start making ADR calendars.

We're going to do the DlxDDP plan as well. There are just so many places we want to try and my DH doesn't want to have to deal with any CS places. He hates having to search for a table and would much rather have a TS where they take you to a table.

You gals are making me HUNGRY!!!!!

I haven't had much time to think about ADR's or planning Disney lately. I'd like to take the last week or so and just hit the rewind and redo button if I could. :sad2:

DH's truck broke down the day we were leaving for a weekend at the beach. Thank goodness it didn't break down while we were on our way! It's done completely, needs an engine and it's a huge diesel so engines don't come cheap for it. Not fun sending a payment in for a vehicle that had to be towed home and is sitting in my driveway. He's driving my minivan until we figure out what to do. This is a huge expense that I'm hoping doesn't effect our Disney plans.

My MIL got results back from her breast cancer surgery and they found traces in her lymph nodes and will be doing a mastectomy and radiation, not sure about chemo yet.

Enough whining. I keep reminding myself of all our blessings and that this too shall pass- I just wish it would pass a little quicker;)

I'm sorry you guys had such a rough week. Hopefully this week will be a lot easier, and your Disney trip won't be effected at all. We'll keep praying for you mother in law. Hopefully she won't need chemo.
I actually talked to a friend from high school this week that I hadn't talked to in at least a year. She needed a girl to talk to since her mom passed away a few years ago. The poor thing is having to have a total hysterectomy 8 days after her 30th birthday. She has 3 children she gave birth to plus a bonus (step) child, so she wasn't planning on having anymore anyway. It's just this is hitting her all at once, turning 30 and the total hysterectomy, and she doesn't have her mom any more to talk to about it. My DH didn't like me talking to her in the past, b/c she is an ex of my brother in laws and their break-up was a bad one and mainly her fault. The brother in law took it really badly, but that was like 15 years ago. I think I've talked to her the last several nights in a row for several hours a night. She said that since I knew her mom and we were such good friend when her mom was alive, it's almost like talking to her. My DH has now told me that if she needs to talk to me 24 hours a day until her surgery to make her feel better, that's what I'll do.

We had some nasty storms roll through last night, and I didn't get any sleep. As I was trying to go to sleep, I noticed lightning, so I check the weather on my iPhone. It showed a big nasty storm headed to us. The storm has the possibility of hail, flooding, high winds, and possibly a tornado. DH has a big job interview today and I was afraid that we might loose power and over sleep.
ok, I think I might be rambling a bit from the lack of sleep, so I think I'm going to take out my contacts and get some sleep.

Monny~ keep us posted on your MIL, hopefully she won't have to do Chemo, but if she does, we'll still be praying for her!!!

Wookie~ We are suppose to get that bad weather this evening/tomorrow. I wonder if it's the same storms you had? This morning my little boy came running in my room and said"Mamma!! It's rainin like crazy and the sun is justa shinin!!"" He's soooo cute!! It doesn't take much to make him happy!! But, it's gettin a litlle darker now, so maybe this afternoon we will get a real big rain,...this morning was like a little shower.

I won't hate you if we hate BRG, but then you can't hate me if you hate WCC! ;) It's one of our faves, up there with Ohana! The food is totally finger-lickin' BBQ, greasy, buttery YUMMI-ness! And we think the atmosphere is tons of fun. We love walking around the WL. It is beautiful-would definately love to stay there someday!!

As far as CS's for DHS...that's a tough one. We've done Pizza Planet too many times, I JUST CAN'T HANDLE THE LINES THERE ANYMORE!!!!! I was so stressed out by the time I got to the table last time, I just wanted to scream! I think this year we'll probably do Sci-Fi lunch then leave and just eat CS at the hotel. The kids are scared of Fantasmic, so we won't be at the park all day anyway!

Okay, it's a deal! We will not hold it against each other if we don't like BRG or WCC! :rotfl:

I know what you mean about Toy Story PP. I need a break from that place! That's why I am looking for another CS place for this trip. We will be going to DHS twice (it's DS10 and my favorite park!). First will be on our arrival day. We will probably go around 2 or 3 and will have dinner at Sci-Fi around 5 or 6, and then stay until whenever. We will be skipping Fantasmic this time. We just saw it in January and we want to stay away from DHS on Fantasmic days due to the crowds. Then we will be going back to DHS 3 days later at rope drop and staying until about 3 or 4. So that day we will need a CS place for lunch. . . . Thinking about the Studio Caterting Co or Backlot Express. Since everyone seems to agree that ABC Commissary stinks! :rotfl:

What is the CS place at DHS that is like a diner? I forgot...is it Hollywood and Vine? I know there is something over there and I heard it was okay. I too am tired of Toy Story Pizza Planet, but the kids love it...they are gonna try to override me if I pick something else, but I really don't want to eat there again. So, tell me all about the WCC---that might be something for us to do on our relax day of pool/laundry. Or maybe arrival day. I could read about it,but I would rather here first hand from ya'll!! I had tried to see about staying there, but we were gonna have to do a suite for a family of 5---so I haven't even been over there yet.

Hollywood & Vine is a TS restaurant. So is 50's Prime Time Cafe if that is what you are thinking of.

Never been to WCC. I have heard mixed reviews on the place. Hopefully we will like it! :wizard:

Backlot Express is pretty good. I haven't eaten there in quite a few years, but my famliy always liked it. In January, we ate at Rosie's All-American Cafe. The burger I had was really good. Fairfax Fare and Toluca Legs Turkey Company are right there too, so there's pretty much something for everyone.

It's not the 50s place, we like that though!!!! I guess maybe it's Hollywood and Vine and I just thought it was a CS. If i lool through my food guide book and find it, I'll report in!! Ha!!!! Shelly, your date to book is coming up!!!! How exciting!! I don't know whose idea it was to wait and do park hours AND ADRs on the same day....not too bright...we should have at least a week longer on park days in case we need to juggle!!!
Hey, has anybody noticed this new guy?:littleangel: His name is Noah!!!Too cute!!

You all are making me soooo hungry with all this talk of Disney food! :surfweb:

We really need to decide if we are going! We said we would wait until the pkg deals came out, so only a few more days left! :thumbsup2

DH just got a backpay check from work - it would cover HALF the cost of a Disney trip!!!! :woohoo: Silly man wants to do house renos or start an RRSP with it! :scared1:

I know we all want to go so badly in January but we just have to wait it out! If we go it would be January 22/23/24-29/30/31 depending on flights! We will fly from MSP again cause it is so much cheaper than flying from in Canada! Like $600 cheaper!

We ate at WCC for breakfast one morning in January. It was good! Fun atmosphere, good food, good service! We will probably go back again in the future but only if we stayed there again.

If we get to go back again in January 2010 we will try to stay in the parks or on the MK momorail loop with our meals. I am actually very curious to try the QSDP but DH REALLY likes the sitting down and relaxing part of the TS meals! I think the QSDP would be great for convenience and a more low key, not so planned trip! I think we will stick with the DDP with this potential trip cause the next time we go it will be spring break 2011 and we will want all the time we can get for touring.

Well, hope you all are having a great summer! We are off to visit family in the next province over (Manitoba) for a week! I will try to check in when I can! :flower3:
