Snow White's Scary Adventures...

Thanks dj2. I know we'll have a magical time
Maybe I'll just sing IASW all the way from IN to Orlando so my fam doesn't miss it!

Minor attraction. The moving trees proffer some sinister notions but aside from that it is a story in car. Often cause for some upset: why is Snow White, the original 'big' Disny film, afforded such a small attraction in Disneyland and Walt Disney World? Alas, it appars that younger generations are not so up to speed on the plot and need a slow, explanatory ride to engage any degree of understanding. Sad.

Personally, I wish they had kept Mr. Toad and gotten rid of Snow White. Mr. Toad was more fun. We always ride Snow White, but it is just an OK ride. Love Peter Pan. Look at the lines--so does everyone else it seems! We got to ride Alice in Wonderland at DL last year and that was a truely awesome kiddie dark ride. Wish it would come to WDW.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I honestly don't remember what was changed. Can you refresh my memory?

In the original attraction, there were many more instances of the Witch popping out in several areas of the attraction. You never quite knew where she would appear next. Parents complained that their children were scared. I guess no one understood that Snow White's "Scary" Adventures actually meant it would be scary  I found the ride to be quite thrilling at the time. Now it leaves a lot to be desired.

Disney had to change the original incarnation of this ride to actually include Snow White and eliminate the way-too-scary-for-youngsters encounter with the wicked witch. The attraction once focused only on the more sinister elements of Grimm's fairy tale, most notably the evil queen and the cackling, toothless witch, leaving some small children terrorized. It's been toned down, with Snow White appearing in a number of pleasant scenes, such as at the wishing well and riding away with the prince to live happily ever after. There are new audio-Animatronic dwarfs, and the colors have been brightened and made less menacing. Even so, this ride could be scary for kids under 4.

We love this ride. We make a game of yelling at the witch to scare her away, and the girls are always excited to get to scream. :-) They don't find it scary, but perhaps we put a different spin on it...

In the off season, you might wait 5 minutes to ride this one, so it's a great walk on when you are tired and waiting for a fast pass some place else.

I'd have to give it a 3 too. My DD4 (was 3 then) hated this ride. Unfortunately, I didn't read any info about this ride. I just walked by, saw it was no line (in August that's hard to find) so we just hopped on. My DD3 then, cried and was scared crazy. I can remember thinking, how scarey can Snow White's scarey adventure be DAHHHHH!!!!

To this day she refuses to even watch the Snow White Ad commercials that is shown before Aladdin and a few other of her favorite Disney movies. I had to tear the picture out of her Disney picture book I made for her after last years trip.

This year I'm reading about the rides beforehand (I have Birnbaum's WDW Guide) so I'll be careful and hopefully will not ruin any more stories for my baby.

:space: Beam me up Scotty!!!!

I'd give the ride about a 3. My kids don't even really like it that much, but they make us get on everything that they can even if it is not one of their favorites.
