I'm showing my kids a Disney movie a day until our trip next month, and today was Snow White. I love SW anyway because of the history of the film, and the gorgeous artwork, but after watching it today I thought alot about the character of SW.
I'm going to make a bold statement and say that I think she's the strongest princess! And a great role model! She's independent, she's brave, and she thinks positively. She tries her best at her menial work and doesn't complain (and sings! hello!) She pulled herself up by her bootstraps and figured out how to make the best of a disturbingly bad situation! Yes she invited herself into the dwarfs house, but she cooked and cleaned and earned her keep. Sure she ultimately gets rescued by the prince, but it's not like she could have saved herself at that point.
All in all, love that movie.
