How is this ride? Is it fun for a 4 yo? Does it go fast? Not sure if I should do FP for her. TIA

4. You might want to. FPs are difficult to get and the waiting lines are long.

My son is 8 (he will be 9 on our trip). He hates roller coasters. However, since I know FP+ is the easiest way to get to ride, I went ahead and booked a FP+ for us for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (7DMT) for each of our Magic Kingdom days.

If he rides it once and hates it - or if he sees it and doesn't want to get on - I'll release our passes and make another family really happy that day when they are suddenly available.

All children are different. It is designed as a family coaster that should appeal to most children.

Are they still long? I've been hovering the MDE app's wait times and it only shows a star, much like POTC and IASM.

Just rode it 2x this past weekend, we had FP+ for the first ride and were on and off in 10mins. At that time stand by was 120mins long ... so I would say get a FP+ if you can, otherwise you will be standing in line for a long period of time. We rode the 2nd time without FP+, made the mad dash with all the other park goers and got in line at opening, we were on and off in 35minutes.

As for it being suitable for a 4yo, there were alot of small children in line, I don't think its a super fast ride, it has lots of turns so you can feel the mine car sway but not scary, not at all. If you child enjoys the Barnstormer, then he/she will be fine on this ride!

I had fastpasses for it. They were canceled by someone other than myself. (A/E too...) I've spent about 7 hours since lady Friday trying to get them replaced. Manages to get A/E, the only time I've seen come up for MT is 10:40. Keep looking. I had almost given up with A/E. I must have gotten it within minutes of someone releasing them because it had only been 7-10 minutes since I had checked that day and there was nothing available.
When I took my nephew in June, we used fp at about 6pm, then rode standby. Wait was posted 75 min. It took about 50.

Right now (10:23 am Eastern), my app is showing
POTC 5 minutes
IASW 15 minutes
7DMT closed

But, typically, waits have remained long for 7DMT.
